Now that lifesaving swimming education, which had shrunk due to COVID-19, is starting to stretch again, and at this time when the social demand for safety education is rising again due to the social shock of the 10.29 disaster, lifesaving swimming education should also be paid attention as part of safety education. In other words, it is time to take a new perspective on lifesaving swimming education. To this end, this study conducted a survey on lifesaving swimming education in the current situation before the end of COVID-19, analyzed and interpreted the results, and proposed a plan to establish lifesaving swimming as a physical activity culture. As a result of the analysis, it was possible to explain the playfulness of lifesaving swimming education, the effectiveness and confidence through theoretical and practical education, the environment of lifesaving swimming education which the educational community perceives, and whether teachers want to continue lifesaving swimming education and the difficulty of lifesaving swimming education felt by teachers. And by interpreting this, the possibility of a culture based on the enjoyment of lifesaving swimming, expansion of contents and objects to be shared, and the establishment of infrastructure for this were discussed, and discussion of lifesaving swimming outside school going further than lifesaving swimming education in school proceeded.

COVID-19로 위축되었던 생존수영 교육이 다시금 기지개를 켜는 지금, 그리고 10.29 참사라는 사회적인 충격으로 인해 안전교육에 대한 사회적인 요구가 다시금 높아져 가는 이때, 생존수영 역시 안전교육의 일환으로 다시금 주목해야 한다. 즉, 생존수영 교육을 바라보는 새로운 관점이 필요한 시점이다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 COVID-19가 아직 종식되기 전 현 상황에서의 생존수영 교육에 관한 실태조사를 수행하고, 그 결과를 분석ㆍ해석하여 생존수영의 신체활동 문화로의 정착 방안을 제안하였다. 분석의 결과로 교육공동체의 생존수영 교육의 유희성, 이론교육과 실 기교육의 효과성과 자신감 형성, 생존수영 교육의 환경 등에 대한 인식 및 생존수영 교육의 지속희망 여부와 교원 들이 느끼는 생존수영 교육의 어려움과 요구하는 지원을 파악할 수 있었다. 그리고 이를 해석하여 생존수영의 유희성을 기반으로 하는 문화로서의 가능성과 콘텐츠 및 공유할 대상의 확대, 그리고 이를 위한 인프라의 구축을 논하 였으며, 학교 내의 생존수영 교육에서 더 나아가 학교 밖 생존수영에 대한 논의를 진행하였다.
