Although the moral subject in the 2007 revision of the elementary moral curriculum has significance in enabling students to be aware of their own emotions and desires and to manage them in an appropriate way, from the perspective of Rousseau’s theory of emotion, it seems to lack the social dimension of emotional causes. Since then, amour-propre(self-love), which is subordinated to the gaze of others, and the problem of child's life experience that can lead to comparison are overlooked even in the current moral subject. In the elementary moral subject, it is necessary to focus on amour de soi (love of self) to make as few comparisons as possible, and make amour de soi (love of self) according to Rousseau’s emotional theory, and to have less of amour-propre (self-love) that is formed in comparison with others as one of the central contents of emotional education. For that, it also needs to form a classroom community that makes as few comparisons as possible with others.

2007 개정 초등 도덕과에서 처음 감정 관리를 다룬 후 지금까지 초 등 도덕과는 학생들에게 감정과 욕구 관리의 필요성을 인식하게 하며 적절한 방법을 갖추도록 고려하고 있다. 그러나 루소의 감정론에서 보 면 초등 도덕과는 감정원인의 사회적 차원을 충분히 고려하고 있지 않 고, 감정 관리는 개인적 차원의 논의와 방법에 집중되어 있다. 타인의 시선에 의해 종속되는 자기애와, 비교를 낳을 수 있는 아이들의 생활 세계의 문제를 놓치고 있는 것이다. 초등 도덕 감정 교육은 루소의 감 정론에 따라 자기사랑에 집중하여 가능한 한 비교를 적게 하고, 왜곡 된 정념의 사회적 기원을 고려하며, 아울러 타인과의 비교를 가능한 한 적게 하는 교실 공동체를 구성할 필요가 있다.
