초록

영어

Nanjang in Joseon refers to a special chapter built for the establishment of a new Jangsi or the promotion of an existing Jangsi. However, in the later generations, even when the market day changed, they tried to inform the neighborhood by setting up a banquet. It is understood that these Nanjangs were formed in the late Joseon Dynasty when Jangsi, especially five-day markets, expanded nationwide. It was at the end of the 19th century that the case of Nanjang as a long poem first appeared. Dwarfs appeared in the diaries of the middle class, and newspapers began to appear. It was a phenomenon that appeared when the daily life of civilians was recorded in the records or newspapers of the middle class, not the records of the noble class. Nanjang was called by various terms such as Janggut, Byeolsinje, and Byeolsi. The banquet was usually held for 3 to 4 to 7 days, but depending on the region, it was held for one or two months. In order to gather people, the dwarfs held rituals, wrestling contests, or mobilized play troupes such as talchum to engage in various entertainment, gambling, and entertainment. This kind of banquet was changed into terms such as ‘Commemoration of the opening city’ and ‘Memorial of the new year’, which were modernized concepts during the Japanese colonial period. Nanjiang, which was restricted by the market policy of Japanese imperialism, was greatly revitalized after liberation. However, with railways, transportation, and markets becoming permanent, Nanjiang was no longer held. As a result, no examples of "Nanjang" have been found since 1960. After all, Nanjang in Korean history has shown a great change from "Nanjang in the past" to "Nanjang in Jangsi" and then "Festival Nanjang".
