In this paper, the modernity of the Korean notation contained in Han-Han HMB/ 『韓漢淸文鑑』(1779) was examined from various angles. The tendency of Chinese orthographical unification in HMB (1708) and Revised HMB/御製增訂淸文鑑(1771), mainly centering on the Manchu of Qing in the 17th and 18th centuries, was examined as an aspect of spreading beyond China to pan-Asian aspects. Above all, Han-Han HMB/ 『韓漢淸文鑑』(1779) provides very systematic data to examine how to unify the notation of Chinese, Manchu, and Joseonese (Korean) with the commonality of preparing a normative notation for spoken languages during this period. Beyond the limitations of language and problems, the spread of this notation consciousness can be understood as one part of the spread of modern notation consciousness at the Asian level.

본 논문에서는 『韓漢淸文鑑』(1789)에 담겨 있는 한글 표기가 가지고 있는 근대성에 대해서 다양한 각도에서 살펴보았다. 무엇보다 서세동점의 시대라 할 수 있는 17～18세기 청의 만주어를 중심으로 하는 HMB(1708) 및 『御製增訂淸文鑑』(1771)에서의 중국적 표기 통일의 경향성이 중국을 넘어서 범아시아적 양상으로 확산되는 경향의 한 측면으로서 『韓漢淸文鑑』(1789)의 표기 양상의 특징을 한글을 통해서 당시의 한어, 만주어, 조선어(한국어)를 나타내려는 표기 양상으로 통해 살펴보았다. 무엇보다 이 시기의 구어에 대한 규범적 표기안을 마련한다는 공통점을 가지고 만주어와 한어, 조선어(한국어)의 표기 통일 방안을 살펴보기에 『韓漢淸文鑑』(1789)은 매우 체계적인 자료를 제공해 준다. 언어와 문제의 제약을 넘어서 이러한 표기 의식의 확산을 아시아 차원에서의 근대적 표기 의식의 확산의 하나로 이해해 볼 수 있지 않을까 한다.
