초록

영어

The Garak temples known to have a history of 2000 years are scattered in Gyeongsangnam-do and Busan. It is said that the temple was built during the active period of King Suro and Empress Heo. Among them, the three major temples in Garak are Buam(父庵), Moam(母庵), and Jaam(自庵). The Buam appears not only in literature such as 『Garaksamwangsajeokgo(駕 洛三王事蹟考)』, 『Sungseonjeonji(崇善殿誌)』, Gimhae-eupji(金海邑誌), and Miryangeupji( 密陽邑誌), which are historical records of the late Joseon Dynasty, but also in old maps such as Haedongjido(海東地圖) and Jiseung Miryangbu(地乘密陽府). It is said that Buam was founded by King ‘Ra’(羅王) in Miryang-eupji, so we looked into whether to view King ‘Ra’ as the king of Silla or interpret it as the king of Gara, another name of Gaya. It was possible to infer the possibility that the place name ‘Jusan(主山)’ mentioned in Gimhae-eup may be related to the king of Gaya. Relics presumed to be Gaya were identified. The stonework of Bueunsa Temple, presumed to be Yoni, could be identified as Yoni used for religious purposes in India in that it has a different shape and purpose from the millstone. ‘Taemudeom’, which is said to have buried the placenta of the Garak royal family near Buam, can be seen as one of the rings connecting Buam and Gaya. This paper analyzed the relationship between Buam and Gaya, focusing on the literature related to Buam published in the late Joseon Dynasty, Yoni stoneware, old site excavation earthenware, Taemudeom (Taebong), Tongcheon Doryang(通天道場), and Mago seokgul(Cave), but it could not be concluded that Buam was founded 2,000 years ago. However, it was confirmed that the belief that Buam was a temple related to Gaya was shared at least before and after the Joseon Dynasty through various historical records and artifacts.
