This study attempted to examine the research results and issues of music history in the early Joseon Dynasty after 2000. To this end, we first reviewed how the history of music in the early Joseon Dynasty was composed and described in Korea music history, and then examined the research results and issues by subject. First, as a result of examining the music history of the early Joseon Dynasty described in Korea music history, Jeon In-pyeong’s New Korean Music History (2000) and Song Bang-song’s Jeungbo Korean Music History (2007) both gave the names. Also, Jeon In-pyeong set the creation of Jeongganbo as the starting point for the period corresponding to the early Joseon Dynasty, and Song bang-song describes the music history of the early Joseon Dynasty by dividing A-ak, Hang-ak, and Dang-ak. Both books were written based on research results prior to 2000. Considering the research results of the early Joseon music history, which has progressed since 2000, the classification and name of the period of the early Joseon music history of the two books did not capture the main trends and characteristics of the early Joseon music history. Next, the results of individual studies dealing with the early Joseon music history can be evaluated that there were certain research performance and time than 2000 years ago. However, some issues related to the early Joseon music history still remain, so it is expected to find various detailed topics related to issues related to issues related to issues related to issues. 본 연구는 2000년 이후의 조선 전기 음악사 연구를 검토하여 그간의 연구성과와 쟁점을 짚어보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 먼저 통사에서 조선 전기 음악사가 어떻게 구성되고 서술되었는가를 검토한 후, 다음으 로 주제별로 연구성과와 쟁점을 살펴보았다. 먼저, 통사에서 서술된 조선 전기 음악사를 살펴본 결과, 전인평의 새로운 한국음악사(2000)와 송방송 의 증보한국음악통사(2007)는 조선 전기에 해당하는 시기를 각각 ‘유량악보시대’와 ‘아악의 정비시대’라 는 시대 명칭을 부여하였다. 그리고 전인평은 조선 전기에 해당하는 시기의 시작을 정간보의 창안으로 잡았으며, 송방송은 아악․당악․향악을 구분하여 조선 전기 음악사를 서술하였다는 특징이 있다. 두 책은 2000년 이후에 출판되었으나 1980~1990년대의 연구성과를 바탕으로 집필되었다. 2000년 이후의 연구성 과를 고려하면, 두 통사에서 부여한 조선 전기 음악사의 시대구분이나 명칭 등은 조선 전기 음악사의 주요 한 흐름과 특징을 잡아내기에 부족한 면이 있는 것으로 생각된다. 다음으로, 조선 전기 음악사를 다룬 개별 연구를 검토한 결과, 그간에 조선 전기 음악사를 다룬 연구들은 2000년대 이전에 비해 다양한 주제와 시기를 다루고 있다는 점에서 연구의 진전이 보인다고 할 수 있다. 그러나 조선 전기 음악사와 관련된 몇 가지 쟁점은 여전히 남아있다. 앞으로 쟁점과 관련된 여러 세부 주제를 발굴하고 다양한 관점으로 접근할 필요가 있을 것으로 생각된다. 여러 연구자의 다양한 시각과 주제를 다룬 연구가 모여 조선 전기 음악사의 다각적인 면모가 고찰되고 그러한 연구성과가 반영된 통사가 마련되기를 기대한다.
