Japanese potential sentence has three case patterns: ｢NP1-ga NP2-wo VP｣, ｢NP1-ga NP2-ga VP｣, and ｢NP1-ni NP2-ga VP｣. Taking note of the differences in the meanings of the case patterns of potential sentence, the semantical differences in the types of ｢NP1-ga NP2-wo VP｣ and ｢NP1-ni NP2-ga VP｣ in particular, this paper has reviewed the distribution of the case patterns used in ‘potential sentence of realization’, ‘potential sentence of condition’, and ‘potential sentence of ability’, which are the semantical subclassification of potential sentence. As a result of the review, it has been confirmed that ｢NP1-ga NP2-wo VP｣type and ｢NP2-ga VP｣type are mainly used in potential sentence of realization and potential sentence of condition, and ｢NP1-ni NP2-ga VP｣type in potential sentence of ability. Based on this result, this paper explains that the reason a certain case pattern is mainly used in a certain potential sentence is because the case pattern is more appropriate in expressing the meaning of the potential sentence, and accordingly, if case pattern is changed, the meaning of potential sentence also changes.

日本語の可能文には｢NP1ガNP2ヲVP｣｢NP1ガNP2ガVP｣｢NP1ニNP2ガVP｣という三つの格パターンが存在する。本稿では可能文の格パターンによる意味の違い、特に｢NP1ガNP2ヲVP｣パターンと｢NP1ニNP2ガVP｣パターンの意味的な違いに注目して、可能文を意味的に下位分類した実現系可能、状況可能、能力可能に用いられる格パターンの分布を観察した。 その結果、実現系可能と状況可能には主に｢NP1ガNP2ヲVP｣パターンと｢NP2ガVP｣パターンが、能力可能には主に｢NP1ニNP2ガVP｣パターンが用いられていることを確認した。 このような結果に基づき、特定の可能文に特定の格パターンが主に用いられるのは、その可能文の意味を表すのにその格パターンがより適切で、他の格パターンは適切でないためであり、したがって格パターンを変えると可能文の意味も変わることを述べた。

일본어의 가능 구문에는 ｢NP1ガNP2ヲVP｣｢NP1ガNP2ガVP｣｢NP1ニNP2ガVP｣라고 하는 세 가지 격 유형이 존재한다. 본고에서는 가능 구문의 격 유형에 따른 의미의 차이, 특히 ｢NP1ガNP2ヲVP｣유형과 ｢NP1ニNP2ガVP｣유형의 의미적인 차이에 주목하여, 가능 구문을 의미적으로 하위분류한 실현계 가능 구문, 상황 가능 구문, 능력 가능 구문에 나타나는 격 유형의 분포를 관찰하였다. 관찰 결과, 실현계 가능 구문과 상황 가능 구문에는 주로 ｢NP1ガNP2ヲVP｣유형과 ｢NP2ガVP｣유형이, 능력 가능 구문에는 주로 ｢NP1ニNP2ガVP｣유형이 나타나고 있음을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 특정한 가능 구문에 특정한 격 유형이 주로 나타나는 것은 해당 가능 구문의 의미를 나타내는 데에 해당 격 유형이 보다 적절하기 때문이고, 따라서 격 유형을 바꾸면 가능 구문의 의미도 달라지게 됨을 기술하였다.
