The Ministry of SMEs and Startups selects and manages companies that have received venture confirmation more than once since the implementation of the venture confirmation system and have exceeded 100 billion won in annual sales as ‘100 billion venture companies’. 100 billion venture companies are contributing to Korea’s economic growth and job creation based on excellent management performance, but the government’s systematic support and management is insufficient compared to other industries. This paper studies the factors of sustainable growth of venture companies in Korea using Porter’s diamond model, focusing on the case of venture companies with 100 billion won (2011 ~ 2020). Through this, the success factors of 100 billion venture companies in the growth stage of the venture company’s life cycle were derived, and this suggested that it can be used as a basis for supporting venture companies considering the growth stage and setting the strategic direction of the scale-up policy.

중소벤처기업부는 벤처확인제도 시행 이후 1회 이상 벤처확인을 받고, 연매출 1,000억을 돌파한 기업을 ‘벤 처천억기업’으로 선정하여 관리하고 있다. 벤처천억기업은 우수한 경영성과를 바탕으로 대한민국의 경제성장과 고용창출에 기여하고 있지만, 정부의 체계적 지원과 관리는 타 산업 군에 비해 미흡하다. 본 논문은 포터의 다 이아몬드 모델을 활용하여 우리나라 벤처기업의 지속적 성장요인을 벤처천억기업(2011 ~ 2020) 사례를 중심으 로 연구하였다. 이를 통해 벤처기업의 생애주기 중 성장 단계에 있는 벤처천억기업의 성공요인을 도출하여, 성 장단계를 고려한 벤처기업 지원과 스케일업 정책의 전략적 방향을 설정하는 근거 자료로 활용 가능하다는 시사 점을 제공하였다.
