This study is to examine efficient national governance plays a positive role in foreign direct investment using panel analysis in 10 ASEAN countries from 2001 to 2019. As representative variables of national governance, the Economic Freedom Index provided by the Fraser Institute and the National Governance Index provided by the World Bank were used, and Hauzmann's test and F test were performed for appropriate analysis for the model. As a result, it reveals that governance has a the positive effect on foreign direct investment. The results of this provide evidence that the strong national governance structure of 10 ASEAN member countries has a positive signal to MNCs and helps to stimulate the inflow of FDI. The analysis of the effect of governance is expected to provide useful data to information users in the capital market. It can also provide indirect evidence that improving national governance can be an important means of attracting foreign direct investment.

거시적 환경이 해외직접투자의 유입에 긍정적인 역할을 하는가를 살펴보기 위하여 2001년에서 2019년까지 의 기간동안 아세안 10개국을 대상으로 국가거버넌스와 해외직접투자 사이의 관계를 패널분석 하였다. 국가거 버넌스의 대표변수로서 프레이저 연구소가 제공하는 경제자유지수를 사용하였으며, 모형에 적합한 적절한 분석 을 위하여 하우즈만 검증과 F 검증 등을 실시하였다. 분석결과, 국가거버넌스와 해외직접투자 유입 사이의 양 (+)의 관계를 입증하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 해외직접투자가 국가 경제에 막대한 영향을 미치고 있는 아세안 10 개국의 강건한 국가거버넌스가 해외직접투자의 유입을 더욱 활발하게 한다는 것에 대한 증거를 제시하였다. 국 가거버넌스 효과 분석은 자본시장의 정보이용자들에게 유용한 자료를 제공할 것으로 기대된다. 또한 국가거버 넌스 개선이 해외직접투자 유치에 중요한 수단이 될 수 있다는 것에 대한 간접적인 증거를 제시할 수 있다.
