This study 1) focuses on the educational program of a new communication mode operated by the museum archive through a participatory digital platform for activation of the user-centered mutual exchanges and co-existence, and 2) examines how the two different concepts and roles of the museum education and the visual art archive could function more integrally in the digital environment. In the post-Covid19 age, the digital transformation has provided for a decisive momentum wherethrough the museums could explore an all-encompassing digital platform activation strategy. However, when the untact mode or ‘the online’ has become the only communication mode, the museums that could not afford to implement a phased mid- and long-term digitalization strategy would face quite different results from those obtained by their counterparts that have implemented such a strategy. Anyway, this study paid attention to the Tate that has pursued a phased digitalization for their operation and activities. Specifically, this study analyzed the contents and strategies of ‘Archives & Access Project (2013-2017)’ implemented by Tate Archive and thereupon, inferred some suggestions for the effective uses of the participatory archive platform. On the other hand, as the pandemic has swept us away, the value of the digital contents of the museum as the public properties has been highlighted. The public nature of the art knowledge and record heritage possessed by the museums as culture and arts institutions does not simply means sharing and participation but connotes their historical mission and communication with the society. Accordingly, the researcher attempted to cross the education of the museums with their archives conceptually and historically. In particular, the study reviewed the post-modern paradigm or the urgency of an open archive, focusing on the participatory education and authority of the museum communicating positively with the people and emphasized an effective fusion of such two currents on the participatory digital platform.

본 연구는 첫째, 뮤지엄 아카이브가 참여형 디지털 플랫폼을 통해 이용자 참여 중심의 상호교류와 상생을 활성화 하는 새로운 커뮤니케이션 방식의 교육 프로그램에 주목한다. 둘째, 뮤지엄 교육과 시각예술 아카이브라는 두 영역의 개념과 역할이 어떻게 디지털 환경에서 더욱 통합적으로 기능할 수 있는지 고찰한다. 포스트코로나 시대, 디지털 전환의 국면은 뮤지엄이 개방, 참여, 공유라는 기조 아래 보다 전방위적인 디지털 플 랫폼의 활성화 전략을 모색하는 결정적인 계기가 되었다. 그러나 온라인이 유일한 소통의 방편이 되었을 때, 단계적 인 중장기 디지털화 전략을 꾸준히 실천한 뮤지엄과 그렇지 못한 뮤지엄은 서로 다른 성패의 결과를 맞이했다. 그 가운데 2000년대 초반부터 뮤지엄의 운영 및 활동 전반에 단계적인 디지털화를 추진해 온 영국 테이트의 성공 사례 에 주목했다. 구체적으로는 테이트 아카이브가 수행한 ‘아카이브와 액세스 프로젝트(Archives & Access Project, 2013-2017)’의 내용 및 전략 분석을 토대로, 참여형 디지털 아카이브 플랫폼의 효과적인 활용을 위한 시사점을 도 출하고자 한다. 더불어, 팬데믹을 통과하면서 공공재로서 뮤지엄의 디지털 콘텐츠 가치가 부각되었다. 문화예술기관으로서 뮤지 엄이 보유한 예술 지식과 기록 유산의 공공성은 단순히 디지털화로 인한 공유와 참여로부터 비롯된 것이 아니라, 뮤 지엄과 아카이브가 시대적 사명과 함께 사회와 소통해 온 역사와 맥을 같이 하는 개념이다. 따라서, 뮤지엄 교육과 아카이브의 접점을 개념적으로, 또 역사적으로 교차시켜 본다. 특히, 대중과 적극 소통하는 참여적 뮤지엄 교육과 권 한을 이양한 개방형 아카이브의 등장이라는 포스트모더니즘 패러다임을 이론적으로 고찰하고 이러한 두 흐름이 참여 형 디지털 플랫폼에서 효과적으로 융합되고 있음을 강조한다.
