The purpose of this study was, in response to the emergence of gambling addiction problem as a economic and social problem, to compare and analyze the media reports on this matter over the time. For the purpose, the media reports were extracted for two years of 2017-2019 and 2020-2022, respectively, using news big data analysis service of TEXTOM and analyzed. The results are as follows. First, the reports on the gambling addiction increased significantly in 2020-2022 compared to previous period, and this was more prominent in the years when there were a problem related to gambling addiction or changes in environment or characteristics. Second, the related word analysis showed that the main group of gambling addiction shifted from adult to adolescent and the main setting had been changed from offline to online. The practical and political strategies to deal with the problem of increasing in gambling addiction for illegal online gambling addiction were proposed.

본 연구는 도박중독의 경제적, 사회적 문제가 코로나19 사태를 전후한 뉴스 내용에서 어떠 한 변화를 보이는지 비교 분석하였다. 이를 위해 텍스톰(TEXTOM) 뉴스 텍스트 분석을 이용 하여 코로나19 발병전인 2017년부터 2019년까지, 그리고 코로나19 발병후인 2020년부터 2022년까지 3년 단위로 뉴스 기사 내용들을 추출 하여 비교 분석하였다. 본 연구결과 첫째, 2020년부터 2022년 구간에는 이전 구간보다 도박중독 관련 기사 건수가 감소하였으며, 도박 중독과 관련하여 의보건 환경 변화가 있는 연도의 경우 언급된 글 건수가 감소하였다. 둘째, 키워드 분석결과 도박중독 환경이 오프라인에서 온라인 중심으로 변화되었다. 이러한 연구결 과를 토대로 향후 도박중독 문제에 대한 실천적, 정책적 전략을 제안하였다.
