We explore the effects of e-business system implementation on firm’s operational performance. Prior studies mostly consider the effects of the enterprise resource planning (ERP) system implementation on its financial performance. Differently, we consider a variety of e-business systems including the ERP system and supply chain management (SCM) system to estimate each effect on firm’s operational performance metrics: total factor productivity, labor productivity, and inventory turnover. Using data from the Survey of Business Activities from 2006 to 2014, we employ the difference-in-differences model with the propensity score matching method to find that a firm’s adoption of ERP and SCM systems increase its operational performance metrics. In particular, we find differential effects of SCM system adoption on performance metrics based on firm’s industry operation.

본 연구는 e-비즈니스 시스템 도입이 기업의 성과에 미치는 영향에 대해 분석하였다. 기존 연구에서는 주로 전사적 자원관리 시스템이 재무성과에 미치는 영향에 대해 살펴보 았다. 본 연구는 이와 달리 다른 유형의 e-비즈니스 시스템 도입이 기업의 운영성과에 미치는 영향을 고찰했다. 특히 전사적 자원관리 시스템뿐만 아니라 운영성과와 관련된 공급망 관리 시스템을 고려했다. 운영성과는 재고회전율과 총요소생산성, 노동생산성으 로 측정하였다. 2006년부터 2014년까지의 기업활동조사 통계자료를 바탕으로 실증 분석 한 결과 전사적 자원관리 시스템의 도입은 기업 생산성 증가에 유의한 영향을 미치는 반면, 공급망 관리 시스템의 도입은 기업 생산성과 재고회전율 증가에 모두 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
