The purpose of this study is to develop an motivation questionnaire of open water swimming . Data were collected using an online questionnaire for 530 participants in the 2022 Han River Cross Swimming Challenge. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS Statistics 21 for item analysis including mean, standard deviation, skewness and kurtosis, item response ratio, item-total score correlation coefficient, and internal consistency between items and then, exploratory factor analysis, After that, a confirmatory factor analysis was conducted using SPSS AMOS 21. As a result of analyzing the data, the motivation questionnaire for participation in the Open Water Swimming Challenge was found to be 8 questions with 3 factors. Specifically, this questionnaire consists of three questions of Han River symbolism, three questions of Self-growth, and two questions of Social relations. This study will contribute to an in-depth understanding of the motivations of open water swimming participants and enhancing the academic value of open water swimming.

본 연구는 오픈워터스위밍 참여동기 설문지를 개발하는 데 목적이 있다. 2022년 한강크로스스위밍챌린지 대회 참여자 530명을 대상으로 온라인 설문지를 활용해 자료를 수집하였다. 수집한 자료는 SPSS Statistics 21을 활용해 문항별 평균, 표준편차, 왜도 및 첨도, 문항반응비율, 문항-총점 상관계수, 문항 간 내적 일관성을 포함한 문항분석과 탐색적 요인분석을 실시하였다. 이후 SPSS AMOS 21을 활용해 확인적 요인분석을 실시하였다. 자료를 분석한 결과, 오픈워터스위밍챌린지 참여동기 설문지는 3요인 8문항으로 나타났다. 구체적으로 본 설문지는 1요인 한강상징성 3문항, 2요인 자기성장 3문항 그리고 3요인 사회적관계 2문항로 이루어져 있다. 본 연구가 오픈워터스위밍 참여자의 동기를 심층적으로 이해하고 오픈워터스위밍의 학문적 가치를 제고하는 데 기여할 것이다.
