The purpose of this study is to find out the effectiveness of the hypocrisy paradigm as a way to prevent it for students who recently show symptoms of smartphone overdependence, and to find out the educational value of the hypocrisy paradigm. To achieve the purpose, a study was conducted on 123 fifth and sixth graders at B Elementary School in Sejong City. It was divided into an experimental group and a control group according to the presence or absence of hypocrisy induction activities. An independent t-test was conducted to verify pre-homogeneity, and a corresponding t-test was conducted to confirm the effectiveness of hypocrisy-inducing activities. As a result of the study, the prior homogeneity between the experimental group and the control group was confirmed, but there was no significant difference in smartphone usage time between the experimental group and the control group. Based on these results, the use of the hypocrisy paradigm is a concept that can be effectively used to induce behavioral changes in public areas such as environmental protection rather than behavioral changes in private areas such as smartphones.

본 연구는 최근 스마트폰 과의존 증상을 보이는 학생들에게 이를 방지하기 위 한 하나의 방법으로써의 위선 패러다임의 효과성을 알아보고, 위선 패러다임의 교육적 활용 가치를 알아보기 위한 연구이다. 이를 위해서 세종특별자치시 B 초등학교 5, 6학년 123명을 대상으로 연구를 진행하였다. 위선 유도 활동 유무에 따라 실험집단과 통제집단으로 구분하였다. 사전 동질성 검증을 위해 독립 t 검정을 실시하였으며, 위선 유도 활동의 효과성 을 확인하기 위하여 대응 t 검정을 실시하였다. 연구 결과 실험집단과 통제집단의 사전 동질성은 확인되었으나, 실험집단과 통 제집단 스마트폰 사용 시간의 유의미한 차이는 나타나지 않았다. 이 결과를 바탕으로 위선 패러다임의 활용은 스마트폰과 같은 사적 영역의 행 동 변화보다는 환경보호 등 공적 영역의 행동 변화를 유도하는데 효과적으로 활 용될 수 개념으로 이를 하나의 교육 방법으로 효과적으로 전달할 수 있는 방안이 모색되어야 한다.
