This study aims at Geumgangsan mountain travel by Yong-a Park Yongchul who represents simunhakpa. The part where he focused on forming the simunhakpa was to establish the independent value of the poem. This reflects his attitude that viewed the combination of literature and ideology from a critical point of view. It is an interesting point that he created Sijo based on the experience of traveling to Mount Kumgang in the 1920s. As it is known, the Japanese imperialism has implemented policies to destroy the ethnicity and culture of Joseon in various ways, so there was a movement to protect the territory, history, culture and language of Joseon. In this process, it gave symbolic meaning to Geumgangsan mountain and put it in Sijo, the regular poet of Joseon. The relationship between Geumgangsan mountain and Sijo was a material with considerable intimacy in terms of the combination of literature and ideology. Therefore, most of the sijos created with Geumgangsan mountain were aimed at inspiring national consciousness by revealing their desire for visiting Geumgangsan mountain or by highlighting the sublime and sacredness of Geumgangsan mountain. But Park Yong-cheol’s approach was different from the beginning: he did not seek a long history at Geumgangsan mountain or intentionally give it any special meaning. The most distinctive part of his Geumgangsan mountain travel Sijo is two main parts. One is that the word mind frequently appears, and the other is that it uses the personal pronoun called you (Nim). Through this, he has been able to solve his inner self by forming the relationship with the object closely. Park Yong-cheol had a lot of difficulties when traveling to Geumgangsan mountain due to his bad health. Despite these difficulties, he visited the area of Birobong and recognized Geumgangsan mountain as a space to heal his physical pain and inner distress. Park Yong-cheol advocated pure lyric poetry that captures the experiences and feelings of the poet, so this part is naturally reflected when creating the poetry of the Geumgangsan mountain. The discussion of this study is meaningful in that it can be seen that the poet who pursued pure lyric poetry on behalf of the simunhakpa can take the aspect of putting Geumgangsan mountain into Sijo.

본 연구에서는 시문학파를 대표하는 시인인 용아 박용철의 금강산 기행 시조에 대해 살펴보았다. 그가 시문학파를 결성함으로써 중점을 두었던 부분은 시의 독자 적인 가치를 확립하려는 데 있었다. 이는 문학과 이데올로기의 결합을 비판적인 관점에서 바라보았던 그의 태도가 반영된 것이기도 하다. 이와 같은 태도를 갖고 있었던 그가 1920년대 금강산 기행 체험을 바탕으로 시조를 창작한 사실은 흥미 로운 지점이다. 주지하다시피 일제는 다양한 방면에 걸쳐서 조선의 민족성과 문화를 말살하려 는 정책을 펼쳤기에 조선의 영토, 역사, 문화, 언어 등을 지키려는 움직임이 있었 다. 이 과정에서 금강산에 상징적인 의미를 부여하여 조선의 정형시인 시조에 이 를 담아내었다. 금강산과 시조의 관계는 문학과 이데올로기의 결합 측면에서 볼 때 상당히 친밀성을 갖는 소재였던 것이다. 따라서 금강산을 소재로 창작된 대부 분의 시조들이 금강산 탐방에 대한 열망을 드러내거나 금강산의 숭고함과 신성함 을 부각함으로써 민족의식을 고취하려는 데 주된 목적이 있었다. 그러나 박용철의 접근 방식은 그 출발점부터 달랐다. 그는 금강산에서 유구한 역사를 찾는다거나 의도적으로 특별한 의미를 부여하려 하지 않았다. 그의 금강산 기행 시조에서 가장 특징적인 부분은 크게 두 가지이다. 하나는 마음이라는 시어가 빈번하게 등장한다는 점이며, 다른 하나는 그대(님)라는 인칭대명사를 사용한다는 점이다. 이를 통해 대상과의 관계를 밀접하게 형성하면서 자신의 내면을 담담하게 풀어내고 있다. 박용철은 좋지 않은 건강으로 인해 금강산 기행을 할 때 많은 어려움 을 겪었다. 이러한 어려움이 있었음에도 비로봉 일대를 둘러보았으며, 자신의 신체 적 고통과 내면의 번민을 치유해 줄 수 있는 공간으로 금강산을 인식하였다. 박용철은 시인 개인의 체험과 감정을 담아내는 순수서정시를 주창했었기에 금 강산 기행 시조를 창작할 때도 이러한 부분이 자연스럽게 반영된 결과라 할 수 있 다. 본고의 논의는 시문학파를 대표하며 순수서정시를 추구했던 시인이 금강산을 시조에 담아내는 양상을 살펴볼 수 있다는 데서 의의를 생각할 수 있다.
