A Child Without Motherland is a story by Shu Qun. It attracted a lot of comments when it was first published in May 1936. Then, The novel was adapted two times as a play of the same name in September 1936 and June 1938. The three versions of A Children without Motherland have changed in the arrangement of characters and plot arrangement, and show different forms in political consciousness and aesthetic value. However, the three versions all keep the character of a Korean-Chinese child named Lili as an image of the other. The narration of national disaster from the perspective of the other members of a Korean ethnic child had really responded to the needs of the nation, state and times for literature.
