In 1932, the Korean National Christian Council proclaimed the social creed. The Social Creed, which begins in opposition to the materialist position in the preamble, consists of a total of 12 articles, which can be subdivided into three parts. Articles 1 to 3 are about equality, Articles 4 to 6 are about protection of the weak, and Articles 7 to 12 are about labor issues. In a larger frame, Articles 1-6 are accessible from the perspective of personal ethics and are evaluated as widely recognized in the existing Korean Protestants, whereas Articles 7-12 dealt with labor issues from the perspective of social ethics. Nevertheless, the Social Creed did not influence many people within the Korean Protestant Church after that, and it is difficult to see it as a product of deep consideration within the Korean Protestant Church. The Social Creed is the first official document against communism by Korean Protestants by formalizing the anti-communist line in the preamble along with the anti-communist line of the Japanese imperialists.

1932년 조선예수교연합공의회는 ｢사회신조｣를 천명한다. 전문에 유물론적 입장을 반대하며 시작되는 ｢사회신조｣는 총 12개 조항들로 구성되어 있으며, 이는 세 부분으로 세분될 수 있다. 1조부터 3조까지는 평등, 4조부터 6조까지는 약자보호, 그리고 7조부터 12조까지는 노동문제에 관한 것이다. 더 큰 틀에서 1-6조는 개인윤리적 측면에서 접근 가능하며 기존의 한국 개신교에서 널리 인식된 것으로 평가된다 면, 7-12조는 사회윤리적 측면에서 노동문제에 천착했다. 그럼에도 1932년 조선예수교연합공의회의 ｢사회신조｣는 그 이후 한국 개신교 내부에서 많은 사람들에게 영향력을 주지 못했으며, 한국 개신교 내부에서 깊이 숙고한 산물로 보기도 어렵다. ｢사회신조｣는 일제의 반공노선에 궤를 같이 하며 전문에 반공노선을 공식화함으로 써 한국 개신교가 공산주의를 반대하는 첫 공식문서로 기록된다. 그러 나 ｢사회신조｣의 내용이 당시뿐만 아니라 지금 한국 개신교에서 소리 를 높이기 어려운 점들이 있어 이 점은 윤리적으로 의미가 있다고 본다.
