In this paper, recent novels featuring climate and ecological disasters are analyzed and the nature of the ‘disaster utopia’ created in the ruins is considered. In addition, members of the disaster utopia will review ‘testimony-making’ as an ethical attitude toward the ruined climate and ecosystem. In recent novels, climate and ecological disasters are reproduced as both a description of the reality currently underway in countries around the world and a catastrophe for the future to come. And in this world, when human sustainable life is in question due to climate and ecological disasters, a dome city is built to protect only selected people. People in the dome who are guaranteed survival and people outside the dome who are driven to death conspire to protect the dome. However, a small number of people who have experienced disaster utopia outside the dome try to end the hostile coexistence by tearing down the dome that promotes discrimination and disgust. They hope everyone faces this problem with equality in the face of disaster. When the age of disaster arrives, many values used in the previous era change. Among them, what stands out in the novels is the fact that the reciprocity of the gift form is transformed into an exchange method. People who are guaranteed a minimum life through exchange practice actions to end disasters. And disasters are talked about in various ways such as diary, report, lecture, and oral retelling. And later, when someone investigating a disaster appears, this story is completed as the testimony of an era. As such, the disaster testimony in the novels show that humans faced with mass extinction did not give up the possibility of solidarity in the midst of shame, misery and despair, and struggled to fulfill their responsibilities and ethics not only for the present human race but also for future generations.

본고에서는 기후/생태 재난이 등장하는 2020년대 SF(Science Fiction)들을 분 석의 대상으로 삼아, 폐허 속에서 만들어지는 ‘재난 유토피아’의 성격을 고찰하고자 한다. 더불어 이 재난 유토피아의 구성원들이 망가진 기후와 생태계를 대면하면서 선택한 윤리적 태도로서의 ‘증언-하기’를 검토할 것 이다. 2020년대에 발표된 SF들 속에서 기후/생태 재난은 세계의 각국에서 현재 진행되고 있는 현실에 대한 묘사인 동시에 앞으로 다가올 미래에 대 한 파국적인 예시(豫示)로서 재현된다. 그리고 이 세계 속에서는 기후/생 태 재난으로 인해 인간의 지속 가능한 삶이 의문에 부쳐지자, 선별된 사 람들만을 보호하기 위한 돔시티가 건설된다. 생존을 보장받은 돔 안의 사 람들뿐 아니라 죽음으로 내몰린 돔 밖의 사람들 역시 돔을 지키기 위해 공모한다. 하지만 돔 밖에서 재난 유토피아를 경험한 소수의 사람들은 차 별과 혐오를 조장하는 돔을 허물어 적대적 공존 상태를 마감하고, 재난 앞에서 모두가 평등한 상태로 이 문제와 직면하길 바란다. 기후/생태 재난 의 시대가 도래하면 이전 시대에 통용되던 많은 가치가 변화하는데, 그중 소설들 속에서 두드러지는 것은 증여 형식의 호혜가 교환 방식으로 변형 되는 것이다. 교환을 통해 최소한의 삶을 보장받은 사람들은 재난을 끝내 기 위한 행위를 실천하고, 일기・보고서・강연・구술 등 재난을 자신만의 방식으로 이야기한다. 그리고 훗날 재난의 비밀을 경청하려는 누군가가 나타나면 이 이야기는 한 시대의 증언으로서 완성된다. 이처럼 기후/생태 재난을 다루는 소설 속에서 재난 증언-하기는 대멸종 앞에 선 인간들이 자괴와 수치, 비참과 절망 속에서도 연대의 가능성을 포기하지 않으며, 현 인류뿐 아니라 미래 세대에 대한 책임과 윤리를 다하기 위해 분투했음을 보여주기에 의의가 있다.
