This paper analyzes the effect of patents on corporate sales in the computer programming and information service industry, where patent applications are rapidly increasing. As a result of analyzing the sales increase effect of patents divided into patent examination stages, such as applied, registered, and active patents, it was found that applied and active patents affect sales in the year and registered patents affect sales in 1 to 4 years. As a result of comparing the sales increase effects of patents for large companies and SMEs, patents for small and medium-sized companies were confirmed to increase sales, but patents for large companies were not confirmed. These imply that the government needs to support policies such as securing patents centered on SMEs, expanding overseas patent applications, and improving related systems in order to foster the information service industry.

최근 특허출원이 급증하고 있는 컴퓨터프로그래밍 및 정보서비스산업에서 특허가 기업의 매출액에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 출원특허, 등록특허, 존속특허의 매출증대효과를 분석하였으며, 그 결과 출원 및 존속 특허는 당해년 매출액에 영향을 미치고 등록 특허는 1~4년 후의 매출액에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 대기업과 중소기업 특허의 매출증대효과를 비교한 결과 중소기업의 특허는 매출증대효과가 확인되었지만 대기업의 특허는 확인되지 않았다. 이에 정부는 특허 기반 산업인 정보서비스산업의 육성을 위해서는 중소기업 중심의 특허 확보 지원 확대, 해외 특허출원 확대, 관련 제도 개선 등의 정책을 지원할 필요가 있다.
