This paper studies the history of Sinheung-dong Village in Gunsan and based on this, proposes cultural contents through which students and tourists can experience history. Sinheung-dong Village in Gunsan was a representative Korean residence location in Gunsan during the last period of the Korean Empire and the Japanese colonial era. This paper observed the history of Sinheung-dong Village focusing on 14 cases of people or incidents of Sinheung-dong. These events and people's lives show inflection points of Gunsan history during the Japanese colonial era. Also, they clearly reveal that the people of Gunsan lived fiercely even within their dangerous and poor daily lives of labor under colonial rule. In addition, based on these 14 cases, two different cultural content production plans were proposed. The first is to explore the history of Sinheung-dong while performing time travel missions. The mission ‘It is being recorded in history! Your choice’ is a mission in which one visits a person who lived in Sinheung-dong Village in the past through time travel, listens to their story, and completes the 'Shinheungdong Biographies' about the person. The second is to create a historical park by installing experiential sculptures in the places where people related to the 14 incidents lived.

이 논문은 군산 신흥동마을의 역사를 연구하고 여기에 기초하여 학생들이 나 관광객들이 역사를 체험할 수 있는 역사콘텐츠를 제안한 것이다. 군산 신흥동 마을은 한말, 일제강점기 군산의 대표적인 한국인 거주지였다. 본고에서는 신흥동마을의 역사를 확실한 지번을 확인할 수 있는 14건의 사람 들이나 사건을 중심으로 살펴보았다. 이 사건들이나 사람들의 삶은 일제강점 기 군산역사의 변곡점들을 잘 보여주고 있다. 그리고 군산사람들이 식민지하 의 위험하고 가난한 노동의 일상 속에서도 치열한 삶을 살아냈다는 것을 여 실히 드러내고 있다. 그리고 14건의 사례를 토대로 이를 활용한 역사콘텐츠를 두 가지로 나누어 서 제안했다. 첫째로, 시간여행 미션을 수행하면서 신흥동의 역사를 탐구하는 것이다. ‘역사에 기록합니다!! 당신의 선택’ 이라는 미션은 시간여행을 통해서 과거 신흥동마을에 살았던 인물을 찾아가 이야기를 듣고 그 인물에 관한 ‘신 흥동사기 열전’을 완성하는 것이다. 둘째로는 14건의 사건과 관련된 인물이 거주했던 곳에 체험형 조형물을 설치하여 역사공원을 만드는 것이다.
