This paper examines the origin and definition of ‘Tianlandu(天然獨, Natural Independence)’ of the youth generation, which has recently been attracting attention in Taiwan, and analyzes the existence of Tianlandu, their national identity, position on unification and independence, and attitudes toward China through Taiwanese poll results. In addition, the factors that led to the formation of Tianrandu in the youth generation were analyzed, and the controversy over the cause of formation was also identified, and then the characteristics of Tianlandu were analyzed compared to the traditional Taiwanese independence faction. Tianrandu is a political position in which the youth generation of Taiwan maintains their Taiwanese identity and supports Taiwanese independence, and it is closely related to national identity, unification and independence issues. In various opinion polls, the youth generation clearly expressed their strong national identity as Taiwanese and Taiwan as an independent sovereign state, their position to maintain the status quo or support Taiwan's independence in cross-strait relations, and their negative perception of China. As a result, it proved the existence of Tianlandu. Tianrandu is a result of the identity transformation of the Taiwanese youth generation, and was formed through the action of several factors. As a characteristic, Tianrandu emphasized the view of the country that was formed by birth, argued that it was “opposed to unification” by targeting the Chinese government and the Kuomintang(國民 黨), which was close to China, as an object of opposition, and expressed a national identity with civic identity attributes. In conclusion, the existence of Tianrandu shows the active role of the Taiwanese youth generation in Taiwanese politics, and this political activeness will have a great influence on cross-strait relations and Taiwanese politics in the future.

본 논문은 최근 대만에서 사회적 관심을 받는 청년 세대의 톈란두를 연구대상으로 삼아, 톈란두 유래 및 정의를 살펴보고, 대만의 여론조사 결과를 통해서 톈란두의 존재 여부 및 그들의 국가정체성, 통독에 대한 입장 및 중국에 대한 태도를 분석하였다. 또한 청년 세대에서 톈란두가 형성된 요인과 형성 원인에 대한 논쟁을 살펴보고 전통 대만 독립 세력과 비교하여 톈란두의 특징도 분석하였다. 톈란두란 대만 청년 세대가 대만정체성을 견지하면서 대만독립을 지지하는 정치적 입장으로, 국가정체성 및 통독문제와 밀접한 관련이 있었다. 각종 여론조사에서 청년 세대는 자신들이 대만인이며 대만은 독립된 주권 국가라는 강한 국가정체성, 양안관계 에 대해서는 현상유지 혹은 대만독립을 지지하는 입장, 중국에 대한 부정적 인식을 뚜렷이 표현하여 톈란두의 존재를 증명하였다. 톈란두는 대만 청년 세대의 정체성 전 환의 결과로서 여러 요인이 작용하여 구성된 것이었으며, 그 특징으로 톈란두는 태생 적으로 형성된 국가관을 강조하고, 중국 정부와 중국에 가까워진 국민당을 반대 대상 으로 삼아 ‘통일 반대’를 주장하며, 시민정체성 속성의 국가정체성을 보였다. 결론적으 로 톈란두의 존재는 대만 청년 세대가 대만정치에 대한 적극성을 보여주는 것으로, 이러한 정치적 적극성은 앞으로 양안관계 및 대만정치에 커다란 영향을 미칠 것이다.
