Snowboarding has become popular in Korea since the 2000s, and many people have been interested and active as a winter leisure sport, but the reality is that the infrastructure is lacking as a professional sports event. Snowboarder Lee Sang-ho is the world-renowned athlete in such an environment. The purpose of this study is to analyze what kind of process Lee Sang-ho, who has the most 'first' modifiers in the history of Korean snowboarding, went through until he won a silver medal at the Olympics, and how his experience was influenced by that process. It is to find out the meaning of the oral history of physical education. As a result, first, it was his father who influenced Lee Sang-ho the most. Second, steady support is necessary for the growth of unpopular sports such as snowboarding. Third, he was able to become the first Asian in the snowboarding event beyond Korea in the snowboarding event because his unremitting efforts, which devoted all his time and passion to snowboarding from his school days, were supported. Fourth, the connection of these processes was the first for Lee Sang-ho in the snow event at the Winter Olympics in Korea and the first in Asia to win the Olympic silver medal in the men's parallel Olympic Games. In that a new history of Korean snowboarding was written, and the history is currently ongoing through continuous challenges, it is meaningful as a history of the Korean Olympic Games beyond an individual's oral history of physical education.

스노보드가 한국에서 인기를 끌게 된 것은 2000년대 이후로 많은 사람이 동계 여 가 스포츠로 관심과 활동을 갖고 있지만, 전문체육의 종목으로써는 그 인프라가 부족 한 것이 현실이다. 이러한 환경 속에서 세계적으로 놀라운 성적을 거두는 선수가 스노 보더 이상호 선수이다. 본 연구의 목적은 한국 스노보드 종목 사상 ‘최초’의 수식어를 가장 많이 보유하고 있는 이상호 선수가 올림픽에서 은메달을 획득하기까지 어떠한 과정을 겪었고, 그 과정에서 어떠한 영향을 받았는지 분석을 통해 그의 경험이 가진 체육 구술사적 의미를 알아보는 데 있다. 그 결과 첫째, 이상호 선수에게 가장 많은 영향을 준 것은 아버지였다. 둘째, 스노보드와 같은 비인기종목의 성장에는 반드시 꾸 준한 지원이 필요한데 이상호는 2018년 평창동계올림픽 개최의 영향으로 다양한 지 원을 받을 수 있었다. 셋째, 학창 시절부터 스노보드에 모든 시간과 열정을 다한 그의 끊임없는 노력이 뒷받침되었기 때문에 스노보드 종목에서 국내를 넘어 아시아 최초의 선수가 될 수 있었다. 넷째, 이러한 과정들의 연계가 이상호에게 한국 동계올림픽 설 상종목에서 최초이며 올림픽 남자 평행대회전에서는 아시아 최초로 올림픽 은메달 획 득이라는 결과를 가져왔다. 한국 스노보드의 새로운 역사가 쓰였고, 그 역사는 계속되 는 도전을 통해 현재 진행형이라는 점에서 한 개인의 체육 구술사적 의의를 넘어 한 국 올림픽 역사로써 의미가 있다.
