China has recorded remarkable economic growth every year since Deng's reform and opening. This was linked to the income level of the people, which boosted consumption in various fields. One of them is overseas medical tourism. China is increasingly in demand for improved environmental hygiene and high-level medical technology as its economy improves, but hospitals with excellent medical technology in China are concentrated in economic development areas, resulting in demand. Under these circumstances, the Korean government revised the Medical Act to actively support the Medical Tourism Project (the project to attract foreign patients). Korea's medical tourism service, which is geographically close to Chinese people and has a high level of medical care, has come as a big advantage. This has led to the growth of the "Medical Tourism Package" in which many Chinese visit Korea to use medical tourism services. However, the majority of Chinese people who visit China for medical tourism visited China for beauty, not for internal medicine or surgical treatment. Although it has excellent internal medicine and surgical skills, it has been found in medical tourism programs that are biased toward certain medical subjects and medical tourism programs that are biased toward certain age groups and suggested solutions.

중국은 등소평의 개혁개방 이후 매년 놀라운 경제성장률을 기록했다. 이는 곧 국민의 소득 수준과 연결되어 다양한 분야에서의 소비가 진작되는 효과를 가져왔 다. 그중 하나가 바로 해외 의료관광이다. 경제 수준이 향상되면서 환경위생의 개 선 및 고수준 의학기술에 대한 수요가 점차 많아지고 있는 중국이지만, 중국에서 우수한 의료기술을 가진 병원은 경제 발달지역에 집중되어있어 수요가 공급을 초래하는 결과를 가져왔다. 이러한 상황 속에서 대한민국 정부는 의료법을 개정하 여 의료관광사업(외국인환자유치사업)을 적극적으로 지원하였다. 중국 사람들에 게 지리적으로 가깝고 높은 의료수준을 가진 대한민국의 의료관광 서비스는 큰 이점으로 다가왔다. 이로 인해 많은 중국인이 한국을 방문해 의료관광 서비스를 이용하는 ‘의료관광 패키지’ 가 성장하게 됐다. 하지만 의료관광을 하기 위해 방 문하는 대다수 중국인은 내과, 외과 진료를 목적으로 하는게 아닌 ‘미용’을 목적 으로 방문을 했다. 우수한 내과, 외과 기술을 보유하고 있지만, 미용 분야에만 몰 리는 점은 특정 진료과목에 편중된 의료관광 프로그램, 특정 연령층에 편중된 의 료관광 프로그램에서 찾아 해결책을 제시하였다.
