This paper discusses the relationship and direction between artificial intelligence and current theological education, the sum of technologies that are undergoing radical development in the context of the 4th Industrial Revolution, and the COVID-19 Pandemic situation. Artificial intelligence is causing various radical changes in many ways, from the direction and method to the content and order of education, which is expected to have a significant influence on the theological educational institutions that train ministers and pastors. This paper deals with the discussion of the technical characteristics of artificial intelligence and the advantages and disadvantages of utilization, and at the same time, timely and meticulously researches and explores the relationship and direction of how to understand, critically accept, and apply it in the field of theological education. In particular, since the use of Artificial intelligence education and the direction of theological education is being conducted separately, this paper examines the relationship between the two and deals with the orientation and direction at the fundamental, philosophical, and educational aspects. This paper suggests that to preemptively present biblical education and Christian Worldview on the ethics, morality, identity, and value determination of artificial intelligence based on participation and communication as the direction of theological education in the era of artificial intelligence, the use of application of education according to the development and technology of artificial intelligence should be actively used in practice-oriented aspects through critical acceptance and that a mid-to-long-term concrete road-map for activating artificial intelligence-based education through practical infrastructure is needed. Finally, innovation in theological education through the use of artificial intelligence, educational method, educational evaluation, and professional and specific use are proposed as follow-up research tasks.

본 논문은 4차 산업혁명과 코로나 19 펜데믹 상황 속에서 급진적으로 발전을 거듭 하고 있는 기술의 총체인 인공지능과 현 신학 교육과의 올바른 관계 및 방향성에 대 해 논의한다. 인공지능은 교육의 원리와 방향 및 방법, 내용과 질서에 이르기까지 다 방면의 급진적 변동을 야기하고 있으며, 이는 사역자와 목회자를 양성하는 신학 교육 기관에도 큰 영향을 미칠 것으로 예측된다. 인공지능의 기술적 특징과 활용의 장단점 에 대한 논의를 본 논문에서 다루며, 동시에 신학교육 현장에서 이를 어떻게 이해하 고 비판적으로 수용하며 적용할 것인가에 대해 그 관계와 방향을 시의적절하게 면밀 하게 연구 및 탐구한다. 특히, 인공지능을 통한 교육의 활용 및 신학 교육의 방향성에 대해서는 각각 개별적인 연구로 진행되고 있기에 본 논문에서는 이 둘의 관계를 살펴 보고 철학적, 신학적, 교육적 차원에서의 지향성과 거시적 방향을 제안하도록 한다. 본 논문에서는 인공지능 시대의 신학교육의 방향성으로 참여와 소통에 토대를 둔 인 공지능의 윤리, 도덕, 정체성, 가치 결정에 대한 성경적 교육 및 기독교 세계관을 선 제적으로 제시하는 것, 인공지능의 발전과 기술에 따른 교육의 활용 및 적용을 비판 적 수용을 통해 능동적, 적극적으로 실천 지향적 측면에서 활용해야 한다는 것, 선제 적으로 실제적 인프라 구축을 통해 인공지능 기반의 교육이 다각적으로 활성화할 수 있는 중장기적 구체적 로드맵을 통한 발상의 전환이 필요하다는 것을 제안한다. 또한, 인공지능의 활용을 통한 신학 교육의 혁신, 교육의 방법, 교육평가 및 전문적이고 구 체적인 활용은 후속 연구 과제로 제안한다.
