This study aims to analyze the theme of ‘the divine love’ in Sermons by One Hundered Pastors & Teachers, focusing on Rev. Myeong-Jik Lee’s “Our Friend Jesus” and Evangelist Byeong-Ju Lee’s “God Loves the World”. Their significant views of the divine love is based on “Our Friend Jesus” and “God Loves the World” published in Sermons by One Hundered Pastors & Teachers published in 1921 under the rule of Japanese imperialism. The prominent points of the divine love in these two sermons could be summarized as follows: Firstly, the author concentrates on Myeong-Jik Lee’s views of ‘the divine love’(the love of Holy Father), focusing on Jesus as a friend of the sinners, Jesus as a sympathetic friend, Jesus as a steadfast friend, and so on. Secondly, the author deals with Byeong-Ju Lee’s views of ‘the divine love’(the love of Holy Son), focusing on enormous amount of love, love of general grace, father’s love for his son, supreme love of God, and so on. Thirdly, the author proposes practical lessons to today’s Korean Christians on the basis of the content of this research such as practice of true love, efforts for sanctification, establishment of faith identity, and so on. In light of important footprints and meaningful achievements of Myeong-Jik Lee and Byeong-Ju Lee, the author proposes future extensions of this research into other themes such as patriotism and national spirit, anti-Japanese struggles, the trial records, Myeong-Jik Lee’s views of eschatology, the life and thought of Byeong-Ju Lee, the Correlation between Christian faith and patriotic spirit, and so forth.

본 연구는 이명직(李明稙) 목사의 설교 “우리의 親舊예수”와 이병주(李秉周) 전도 사의 설교 “하나님이 世上을 愛하신다”를 중심으로 『百牧講演(第一集)』에 나타난 주제 ‘신성한 사랑’을 분석하려는 데 두었다. 이명직과 이병주의 신성한 사랑에 관한 핵심적 논점은 “우리의 親舊예수”와 “하나님이 世上을 愛하신다”를 통해 고찰할 수 있으며 이 글들은 일제강점기 1921년에 발행된 『百牧講演(第一集)』에 수록되었다. 신성한 사랑과 관련하여 이 두 편의 설교에 기술된 핵심적인 논지들을 정리하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 죄인의 친구로서의 예수, 동정심 깊은 친구로서의 예수, 변치 않는 친구로서의 예수 등에 초점을 맞추어 이명직의 ‘신성한 사랑’(성자의 사랑)에 관한 논 점들을 고찰했다. 둘째, 무한한 사랑, 일반은총의 사랑, 아들을 향한 아버지의 사랑, 하나님의 지고(至高)의 사랑 등에 초점을 맞추어 이병주의 ‘신성한 사랑’(성부의 사랑) 에 관한 논점들을 다루었다. 셋째, 이 논문에서 숙고한 논지들에 근거하여 참사랑의 실천, 성화를 위한 노력, 신앙정체성 확립 등 오늘날 한국그리스도인들을 선도하기 위 한 실천적 교훈들을 제시했다. 이명직과 이병주가 남긴 중요한 행적과 의미 있는 사적들에 비추어 본 연구자는 추후 이에 상응하는 연구를 확장함으로써 본고에서 다룬 주제 외에도 애국심과 민족 정신, 항일투쟁의 행적, 재판기록들, 이명직의 종말론 관점, 이병주의 생애와 신학사상, 기독교신앙과 애국의 상관관계 등 여러 방면의 담론으로 외연될 수 있기를 제안한다.
