In this paper, I would like to clarify that through the analysis of the contents of the commercial magazine Zyukenkai, which was published in Japan from 1920 to 1944. Through this content’s analysis, it became clear that i) the contents of the magazine Zyukenkai were mainly composed of various information necessary for qualification tests and the process of individual efforts to achieve goals, ii) the examination information was published in the magazine Zyukennkai not only in Japan but also in Joseon, Taiwan, and Manchuria. and iii) contributors of the magazine Zyukenkai were required to be fluent in Japanese and to have an identity of ‘Japanese’ regardless of where they came from. It means that readers and contributors of the magazine Zyukennkai have contributed to taking the expansion of the colonial system from Japan to Joseon, Taiwan, and Manchuria as a matter of course.

본 논문에서는 1920년부터 1944년까지 일본에서 발행되었던 상업잡지 『수험계』의내용 분석을 통해, 이 잡지의 성격 및 여기에 게재되었던 식민지 관련 정보의 특징을 고찰해 보고자 한다. 구체적으로 i)『수험계』는 자격획득 및 진학에 필요한 다양한 시험정보와 목표 달성을 위한 개인의 피나는 노력을 강조하는 지면으로 구성되었다는 점, ii)이 잡지에는 일본뿐 아니라 조선, 대만(台湾, 타이완), 만주, 관동청, 화태(樺太, 카라후토) 등, 소위 ‘외지’에 해당하는 수험정보가 게재되었고, 독자나 투고자 또한 일본인에 한정되지 않았다는 점, iii) 『수험계』의 투고는 유창한 일본어 구사를 전제로 했는데, 이는 투고자의 출신지역에 관계없이 ‘일본인’이라는 정체성을 요구하는 것이었다는 점 등을 분명히 한다. 이를 통해 『수험계』가 개인의 욕망 실현에 필요한 정보를 제공하는 상업잡지를 표방하고 있었지만, 식민지체제 및 전시동원체제라는 정치적 상황과 무관하지 않았음을고찰한다.

本論文では1920年から1944年まで日本で発刊された商業雑誌『受験界』の内容分析を 通じて、この雑誌の性格及びここに掲載された植民地関連情報の特徴を考察してみ る。これを通してi)『受験界』の内容は資格獲得及び進学に必要な試験情報と目標達成 のための個人的な努力の過程が重心であったこと、ii)この雑誌には日本だけではなく 朝鮮、台湾、満州、関東庁、樺太など、いわゆる‘内地’と‘外地’に関する受験情報が掲 載されており、読者や投稿者も日本人に限られていなかったこと、iii)『受験界』の投稿 者には日本語に流暢することと自分の出身地域にかかわらず日本人というアイデン ティティを持つことが求められていた点などが明確になった。これは『受験界』の読者 及び投稿者が日本を中心に朝鮮と台湾･満州、樺太へとつながる植民地体制の外延拡 張を当然なものと受け入れるに寄与したことを意味する。
