According to the Korea Police Agency statistics, the number of domestic dating violence cases has continued to increase from 14,136 in 2017 to 18,671 in 2018 and 19,940 in 2019. In other words, the number of dating violence increased 41.1% in 2019 compared to 2017. This increase trend could be mainly due to the police's increased ability to arrest, but the high rate of 41.1 percent suggests that dating violence is rapidly increasing in South Korean’s society. Therefore, this study attempted to study the effects of domestic violence experiences on dating violence in consideration of the relationship between borderline personality traits. In other words, we tried to find out how the extent of the relationship between domestic violence and dating violence varies depending on the level of borderline personality traits. As a result, it has been confirmed that experience of domestic violence had a significant positive(+) effect on dating violence, and that the borderline personality characteristics have all moderating effects on dating violence by type. Based on this, the agenda to be discussed was suggested and the limitations were presented.

경찰청 통계자료에 따르면, 국내 데이트폭력 건수에 대한 통계는 2017년 14,136건으로 부터 2018년은 18,671건 그리고 2019년은 19,940건으로 지속해서 증가하는 추세를 보 인다. 즉, 2019년에는 2017년에 비해 데이트폭력 건수가 41.1% 증가하였다. 이러한 증 가추세는 경찰의 검거력 향상이 주요 원인이 될 수도 있지만, 41.1%의 높은 상승률은 대한민국 사회에서 급속도로 데이트폭력이 증가하고 있다는 점을 시사한다. 따라서 이 연구는 가정폭력 경험이 데이트폭력에 미치는 영향에 대해 경계선 성격특성의 관계를 고려하여 연구하고자 했다. 즉, 경계선 성격특성의 수준에 따라 가정폭력 경험이 데이 트 폭력에 미치는 관계의 크기가 어떻게 바뀌는지를 살펴보고자 했다. 결과적으로, 가 정폭력 경험이 데이트폭력에 유의미한 정(+)적 영향을 미치며 경계선 성격특성은 유형 별 데이트폭력에 모두 조절효과를 가지는 것으로 확인되었다. 이를 토대로 논의될 수 있는 안건을 정리하고 한계점을 제시하며 마무리했다.
