This study aims to propose a plan to improve social studies classes as an alternative for reflecting what the fourth industrial revolution demands on Social Studies education. For this purpose, considering the characteristics of changed contemporary society, the objectives, the contents and the methods of the digital literacy education in Social Studies are suggested and class organization and practical strategies are embodied in this study. The main contents are as follows. First, the educational objectives should be composed of systematic understanding the relationship between scientific technology and social changes, critical thinking on social problems and problem solving capability, and emotional sympathy and communicative competency. Second, the educational contents are composed of integrated topics and learner-centered activities and related knowledge can be suggested as a selective content. Third, this study designs student activity-oriented classes based on the social problems and challenges and suggests practical strategies include zoom-in and zoom-out, value-planting, decision-making, and nudge strategies.

본 연구의 목적은 4차 산업혁명 시대의 요구를 사회과 교육에 반영하는 방안을 수업 차원에서 제안하 는 데에 있다. 이를 위하여 사회변화 특성을 반영한 사회과 디지털 리터러시 교육의 목표, 내용, 방법, 그리고 수업구성 아이디어 및 실천 전략을 제시하였으며 제안의 주요 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 교육목표는 과학기 술과 사회변화의 관계에 대한 시스템적 이해, 사회문제에 대한 비판적 사고와 문제해결역량, 감성적 공감과 소통 역량 중심으로 구성하여야 한다. 둘째, 교육내용은 융합형 주제와 학습자 활동 중심으로 구성하며 관련 지식은 필요에 따라 선택 가능한 학습내용으로 제시한다. 셋째, 사회문제와 도전과제를 기반으로 한 학생활동 중심 수업을 구성하되 수업전략에 줌인⋅줌아웃, 과학기술에 가치심기, 의사결정, 넛지 전략 등이 포함되도록 한다.
