초록
영어
Lee Jin-ah’s research ‘Nation and Dance’, which reinterpreted Choi Seung-hee’s life in a way that intersects nationalism and feminism, was recently published. This book review focuses on how the book is overcoming the limitations of existing research, which usually converges to Choi Seung-hee’s genius or bad luck. To this end, this book review analyzes the author’s research method of rereading Choi Seung-hee’s narrative of transboundary with keywords such as ‘national representation’, ‘gender performance’, and ‘Joseon dance’. As a result, through the author’s experiment, this review finds that there is a possibility of more diverse interpretations of the way a modern woman named Choi Seung-hee exists.
