Purpose : This study analyzed using the Trade Specialization Index (TSI) and the Comparative Advantage Index (MCA) for each market to verify the market share and competitiveness index of Korean auto parts, which is the 5th largest producer of automobiles in the world and a major producer of automobile parts, in the Chinese market. . Through this study, the purpose of this study is to establish a strategy to maintain the export competitiveness of auto parts and the continuity of market expansion by analyzing the export trend of Korean auto parts in the Chinese market. Research design, data, methodology : The main question to be studied about export competitiveness is how to make the most of the advantages of a country's goods or services in order to gain a foothold in overseas markets and occupy foreign markets. The obtained data is used to study the competitiveness of Korean auto parts in the Chinese market using the Trade Specialization Index (TSI) and the Market Share Index (MCA). Results : As a result of the analysis of the Trade Specialization Index (TSI), it can be seen that the remaining items are competitive in the Chinese market except for 810, 870, 891, and 894 in the 2011 Korean auto parts specialization index. Since most of the decade has been in a strong competitive position, it can be said that Korea's auto parts competitiveness in the Chinese market is high.Second, as a result of market-specific comparative advantage index (MCA) analysis, most products have an index greater than 1, so Korean auto parts maintain a relative comparative advantage in the Chinese market. Parts 850, 880, and 893 have a high comparative advantage from 2011 to 2020, and parts such as 810, 829, 870 and 892 have low competitiveness in the Chinese market from 2011 to mid-2020. The 821 and 840 parts are competitive as the analysis result exceeds 1, but it is showing a downward trend every year. Conclusions : The automobile parts industry occupies a very important position in the overall automobile industry. The development of auto parts has contributed greatly to the Korean economy, and the competition between Korea and China is expected to intensify in the future. Most of the products that Korea has a competitive advantage in the Chinese market are high value-added products, technology-intensive products, and products with high technology requirements.
