In this paper, the concept of the indigenous peoples of the Far East regarding the three-tiered worldview as the structure of the universe and the cosmic tree, the cosmic river, and the cosmic mountain as the central axis of the cosmos was examined. The core of the universe view of the indigenous peoples of the Far East is a three-tiered worldview that the universe is a structure of the upper world, the middle world, and the lower world. In the notion of the indigenous peoples of the Far East, the central axis of the universe is embodied as the cosmic tree, the cosmic river, and the cosmic mountain. The cosmic river has a function similar to the cosmic tree, but the cosmic tree has a strong element of totemism that views the universe vertically, singly, and integrally. In the notion of the indigenous peoples of the Far East, the cosmic mountain is a fusion of a vertical and horizontal model of the universe, and is generally embodied as a big deer or a reindeer with horns touching the sky.

본 논문에서는 우주의 구조로서 삼단세계관, 우주의 중심축으로서 우주목, 우주강, 우 주산에 대한 극동 토착종족의 관념을 살펴보았다. 극동 토착종족 우주관의 핵심은 우주가 상계, 중계, 하계의 구조라는 삼단세계관으로 상계는 상제, 천신들, 씨족의 기원지, 태양, 달, 별이 있는 곳, 중계는 현실 인간의 세계, 하계는 악령과 죽음의 세계, 조상령의 씨족마 을이 있는 곳이다. 극동 토착종족의 관념에서 우주의 중심축은 우주목, 우주강, 우주산으로 형상화 되는데 이는 종족 공통의 것이 아니라 개별 씨족의 것이다. 우주목은 상계, 중계, 하계를 연결하는 수직적 우주 모델로 우주 중심축의 전형이며 인간과 천신들을 연결하는 매개체이자 천신 들과 인간의 교류가 이루어지는 곳이다. 우주강은 우주목과 달리 우주가 다층 구조라는 삼단세계관의 요소가 강하며 우주강 수원은 상계, 본류는 중계, 하구는 하계로 형상화 되 는데 우주강은 상계에서 하계로 수평으로 흐르면서 수직축을 따라 우주의 3단 세계에 배치된 모든 것을 결합한다. 우주산은 우주의 수직모델과 수평모델이 융합된 관념이며 보편적으로 거대한 큰사슴이 나 뿔이 하늘에 닿아 있는 순록으로 형상화된다. 극동 토착종족의 우주관은 혼종성을 강하 게 보여주는데 초기에는 자체발생적인 성격을 띠었지만 이후 인접한 고아시아족, 알타이계 몽골족과 튀르크족의 영향을 받았으며 19세기 중후반부터는 러시아의 영향을 많이 받았다.
