The purpose of this study is to find the various dimensions of environmental identity while noting the role of environmental identity in motivating proenvironmental behavior, and to suggest points to be considered when forming an environmental identity in moral education. Environmental identity consists of physical and sociocultural dimensions and includes integrated aspects of cognition, emotion, and behavior. In this study, it is suggested that not only the aspect of the physical self that can recognize the connection with the natural environment at school sites, but also the environmental identity can be formed through proenvironmental culture and practice. In addition, an integrated approach that fosters intimacy and connectedness with the environment as well as environmental reasoning and understanding is required, and the educational necessity considering various types of environmental moral reasoning according to age is suggested.

본 연구는 환경 친화적 행동의 동기화 요소로서 환경적 정체성의 역 할에 주목하면서 환경적 정체성의 다양한 차원을 밝히고 도덕교육에서 환경적 정체성을 형성할 때 고려해야 할 점들을 제안하는 것을 목적으 로 한다. 환경적 정체성은 물리적 차원과 사회문화적 차원으로 구성되 며 인지, 정서, 행동의 통합적 측면을 포함한다. 본 연구에서는 학교 현장에서 자연 환경과의 연계성을 인식할 수 있는 물리적 자아의 측면 뿐만 아니라 환경 친화적 문화와 실천을 통한 환경적 정체성을 형성할 수 있음을 제안하였다. 또한 환경적 추론과 이해뿐만 아니라 환경에 대한 친밀감과 유대감을 길러주는 통합적 접근을 해야 하며, 연령에 따른 환경 도덕적 추론의 다양한 유형을 고려한 교육적 필요성을 제안 하였다.
