First, in this paper, nine volumes of People’s Creative (Oral literature) (1960-1962), published by the North Korean Academy of Sciences (changed to the Institute of Social Sciences in 1964), were identified and the contents were analyzed. In addition, the related aspects of this magazine and Oral Materials Collection (folk tales) (1964 edition) were clarified. In previous studies, the possibility of adaptation was mentioned centering on the 1964 edition. In this paper, the People's Creative and the 1964 edition were compared and reviewed, and the aspect of the adaptation was clarified. Until now, only No. 1-6 (1960-1961) has been known as People’s Creative. In this paper, the newly discovered People’s Creative No. 7-8 (1962) and Oral literature No. 9 (1962) were additionally confirmed to explain the aspect of the adaptation. As a result of comparing the folk tales contained in the 1964 edition with the People’s Creative, a total of 41 stories were found to be common. First, the stories of patriots were used to strengthen the 'patriotic education'. In addition, the story of landlords was used to strengthen socialist class education. In conclusion, in the 1964 edition, 1. The content was adapted to be easy to understand. 2.Not only the title, but also the notation, expression, and wrong order of the sentences were corrected. 3. Modified non-scientific parts. 4. Changed the terms and characters. For example, the aristocracy was unified as a landowner. The 1964 edition revolves around the story of the landlord. 5.The content was adapted, but the motif was maintained. As such, the 1964 edition was adapted for patriotic and class education.

이 논문은 북한 과학원(1964년 사회과학원으로 분리)이 간행한 『인민창작(구 전문학)』(1960-1962) 총 9권을 처음으로 확인하고, 『구전문학자료집(설화편)』 (1964년판)과의 관련 양상을 명확히 한 것이다. 선행연구에서는 1964년판을 중 심으로 개작 가능성이 언급되었는데, 본고에서는 처음으로 『인민창작(구전문학)』 총9권과 1964년판을 비교 검토하여 그 개작 양상을 명확히 하였다. 지금까지 『인민창작』은 통권 1~6호(1960-1961)만이 국내에 소개되었다. 총 6권에 불과하기에 잡지 내용이 1964년판에 어떻게 반영되었는지를 확정하기는 어려웠다. 이에 대해, 본고에서는 새롭게 발굴한 『인민창작』 통권 7~8호(1962) 와 그 후속잡지 『구전문학』 통권 9호(1962)를 추가적으로 발굴‧분석하여, 그 개 작 양상을 해명하였다. 『인민창작(구전문학)』 총9권과 1964년판에 수록된 이야기(전설, 민담, 우화, 동화 총68편)를 대조 분석한 결과 총 41편이 공통된다는 사실을 새롭게 밝혔다. 본문에서는 특히 ‘애국주의 교양’을 강화하기 위해 활용된 애국자 및 부패한 지배 층의 이야기, 그리고 사회주의 ‘계급 교양’을 강화하기 위해 활용된 지주 이야기를 중심으로 다시 쓰기 양태를 구체적으로 분석하였다. 이를 통해서 1964년판에서는 1.내용을 간결하게 윤색하였고, 2.제목은 물론이고, 문장의 표기, 표현, 잘못된 순서를 바로 잡았음을 밝혔다. 또한 3.과학적이지 않은 부분은 삭제하거나 수정하였고, 4.용어 및 등장인물을 변화시켰다. 구체적으로 양반을 지주로 통일시켜 지 주 이야기를 중심으로 구성하려고 하였다. 5.내용을 개작하고 첨삭하였지만 기본적으로는 모티프를 유지하였고, 보다 ‘애국주의적’, ‘계급 교양’을 위해 반봉건적, 반외세적 요소가 강화되었음을 명확히 하였다.
