In this study, we synthesize photocatalyst based on stainless steel plate and mesh by anodization method. The anodized stainless steel plate and mesh formed nanotubes on their surface. The major components Fe and Cr are transform to Fe2O3 and Cr2O3 during anodization which are favorable as a photocatalyst by z-scheme effect. The first step of anodization is to prepare 100 mm x 40 mm of stainless steel plate and mesh vertically as anode and platinum as cathode electrode with distance of 5cm. 5 V/V% of perchloric acid based on ethylene glycol used for electrolyte, start anodize with 40V, 20min (5min for mesh), less than 6℃ with 150 rpm of magnetic stirred. The nanotubes on substrates are gradually increase their surface area which are effective to degrade organic compounds. The degradation experiments were carried out with hydrogen peroxide under UV light irradiation (20W, 254nm). SEM, EDS, and XRD are visualized the characteristics of each substrates. Various organic compounds analyzed with HPLC, GC-MS, GC-FID, and UV-vis spectrometer.
