The 2022 COVID-19 pandemic caused abrupt changes in the whole areas of our society, including politics, economy, society, culture, and art. In the new-normal era advanced by COVID-19, the education of peaceful unification needs such educational content as the MZ generation can sympathize with. The drastic change in our society means a change to the environment for the education of peaceful unification. The Korean government also tries to escape the previous education method through the Institute for Unification Education. However, the government still emphasizes the unification with North Korea neglects the reality the MZ generation faces. The unification education still remains in the previous method of teaching by rote in the era of untact. The historically approached 'fatalistic view of unification' of the older generation is distanced from our society's spirit of the age of 2022. Hence, it is imperative in the current era to escape from the 'fatalistic view of unification.' Therefore, this paper investigated the state of college education for peaceful unification and specifically discussed the post-pandemic subjects of the practice of unification education for the MZ generation.

2022년 코로나-19 펜데믹으로 우리사회는 정치·경제·사회·문화·예술 등의 전 영역에서 급작스런 변화 가 일어났다. 이는 새로운 가치 및 새로운 표준이 주도하는 뉴노멀(New Normal: 새로운 표준) 시대로의 전 환으로 이어졌다. 교육 역시 비대면·온라인 교육을 실시하면서 언택트 시대에 맞게 교육 환경도 급변했다. 이에 대학들의 비대면·온라인 교육 서비스는 뉴노멀로 자리 잡아가고 있다. 코로나-19로 앞당겨진 뉴노멀 시대에 통일교육 역시 MZ세대와 공감할 수 있는 교육 콘텐츠가 필요할 때이다. 우리사회의 급격한 변화는 통일교육 환경의 변화를 의미한다. 국립통일교육원을 중심으로 우리 정부도 기존의 교육 방식의 틀에서 벗 어나고자 변화를 시도하고 있다. 하지만 여전히 MZ세대가 처한 현실을 외면한 채 북한과 통일만을 강조하 고 있다. 통일교육은 언택트 시대에서도 여전히 주입식 형태의 교육 방식에서 벗어나지 못하고 있다. 기성세 대의 시각에서 역사적으로 접근하는 방식의 ‘숙명론적 통일관’은 2022년 우리사회의 시대정신과 동떨어져 있다. 따라서 작금의 시대에는 ‘숙명론적 통일관’의 틀에서 탈피하는 것이 가장 시급하다. 이에 본 논문에서 는 기존의 대학 통일교육의 현황을 고찰했고, 포스트 코로나 시대에서 MZ세대를 위한 통일교육 실천과제를 구체적으로 논의했다.
