In addition to various studies in the field of Korean traditional music on the transition process and characteristics of Mitdodeuri, there was a study on Haegeum melody analysis applying Topological Data Analysis. It is part of the recently emerging artificial intelligence music research. It is necessary to review whether the analysis adequately reflects the characteristics of the music. In particular, the analysis method of TDA was made by substituting each node, which is the unit of the combination of pitch and length. Therefore, it is necessary to verify whether this matches the characteristics of music that are generally recognized. Accordingly, melodies repeated the same as before were found in Mitdodeuri Haegeum melody. Again, the whole melody was divided into melodic fragments of one Jangdan or less. Afterward, it was classified into original melody and repeated/transformed melody. As a result of comparing the pattern of melodies and previous studies, the formation of the cycle in TDA was related to melodic lines. And it was found that the ‘repeat-and-return’ pattern of Mitdodeuri revealed by the cycle structure from TDA was quite consistent with the melodic structure of Mitdodeuri.

도드리의 변천과정과 특징에 관한 국악 분야의 다양한 연구에 더하여 최근 위상수학적 방법론 (TDA)을 적용한 밑도드리 해금 선율의 분석연구가 있었다. 이는 최근 대두되고 있는 인공지능 음악 연구의 일환으로, 그 분석이 음악의 특징을 적절히 반영하고 있는지에 대한 검토가 필요하다. 특히 TDA의 분석 방법은 ‘율’과 ‘길이’ 결합을 단위로 하는 각 노드(node)를 대입하여 이루어졌기 때문에 보편적으로 인식하는 음악의 특징과 부합하는지 살펴볼 필요가 있다. 이에 따라 밑도드리 해금 선율의 동일반복선율을 찾고, 다시 전체 선율을 1장단 이하의 선율 조각으로 나누어 원선율과 반복 · 변형선율로 분류하였다. 이를 통해 분석한 선율의 양상을 비교한 결과 TDA에서 환(cycle)의 형성이 선율선과 관련이 있고 환-구조(cycle structure)로 드러난 밑도드리의 반복과 회귀의 패턴이 선율의 반복과 변형에 의한 밑도드리의 반복 및 순환구조와 상당히 일치함을 알 수 있었다.
