Even though the activities of artists positively influence the local region, artists’ activities may decline again after the end of the project, or artists may leave the region without being able to settle down in the place. Thus, it is necessary to comprehensively understand the relationship among the factors of artist departure to promote the settlement of artists in the local area. Accordingly, this study identified the relationship between the factors of artist departure and analyzed the difference in the perception of artists and planners. The results of the DEMATEL analysis are as follows. In the case of artists, lack of exchange and program factors were important factors in artists’ departure. The rent increase was a relatively insignificant factor. Night market commercialization had the most significant influence on each factor. The factor of rent increase was affecting the decrease in exchange among artists and the lack of space. The planners were aware that artists were departing due to the rent increase. Also, unlike artists, the planners recognized the importance of physical factors. The implications of the study are as follows. In conducting projects, instead of focusing solely on success factors, it is necessary to establish measures for artists to settle in the local area and to understand the factors inherent in artists’ departure from the area. Moreover, programs to promote exchanges should be established, while ways to secure space in the early stage of the project should be considered.

본 연구는 2008년부터 문화예술지원사업이 진행된 대인예술시장을 대상으로 하였다. 쇠퇴하는 시장의 예술인 이탈요인 간 관계를 DEMATEL분석을 활용하여 검증하고 예술인과 기획자의 인식차이를 비교하였다.예술인의 DEMATEL분석 결과는 다음의 네 가지로 나눌 수 있다. 1) 프로그램적 요소는 중요도가 높고 원인적 성격을 가지고 있었다. 반면, 물리적 요소는 상대적으로 중요도가 낮고 영향을 받는 결과적인 변수인 것으로 나타났다. 2) 임대료 상승 이탈요인의 중요도가 낮은 것으로 분석되었으나, 빈도분석에서는 높은 순위로 나타났다. 빈도분석 순위가 높은 변수는 다른 변수에 영향을 주는 원인적 요소였다. 3) 원인적 변수를 살펴보면, 야시장의 상업화는 각각의 변수에 가장 많은 영향을 주고 있으며, 중요도 또한 두 번째로 높게 나타났다. 4) 결과적 변수를 살펴보면, 예술인의 이탈에 있어 가장 중요한 변수는 교류감소였다. 기획자 DEMATEL분석 결과는 다음의 네 가지로 나눌 수 있다. 1) 기획자는 임대료가 가장 중요한 예술인의 이탈요인으로 인식하고 있었고 DEMATEL과 빈도분석 결과 또한 일치하고 있었다. 이는 예술인과는 상이한 결과임을 알 수 있었다. 2) 기획자는 프로그램적 요소는 예술인의 이탈에 중요도가 낮다고 인식하고 있었다. 예술인의 DEMATEL분석결과에서는 프로그램 요소가 이탈에 중요요인으로 분석되었던 것과 상반되는 결과임을 알 수 있었다. 3) 교류감소는 두 집단 모두에서 중요하다고 분석되었다. 이러한 결과는 선행연구에서 예술인은 교류가 중요하며, 교류를 위한 기반을 마련해 주어야 한다는 내용과도 일치하는 결과였다. 4) 기획자는 기획자 역량이 예술인 이탈에 있어 중요한 요소가 전혀 아니라고 인식하고 있었다. 그러나 예술인의 DEMATEL 분석결과에서는 기획자의 역할이 중요변수에 영향을 주고 있는 것을 알 수 있었다.
