This paper proposes teaching-learning activities about big data for elementary learners who have no prior learning experience related to artificial intelligence(AI) education. For the development of activities, the characteristics of learners, enjoying listening and singing to popular songs, are considered. Accordingly, learners create wordclouds with their favorite song lyrics, then trace it to a transparent film so they can learn the concept of big data visually. As a result of applying developed teaching-learning activities for 4th graders in elementary school, students actively explored the meaning and characteristics of big data. The developed teaching-learning activities are also related with convergence education in that they can be linked to other curriculum such as Art. Through follow-up research, it is necessary to conduct research on AI education activities that sufficiently reflect learners' preferences and maximize the effectiveness of education.

본 논문은 인공지능(AI) 교육과 관련된 사전 학습 경험이 없는 초등 학습자를 대상으로 빅데이터의 주요 특징을 교육하는 교수·학습 활동을 제안한다. 활동 개발을 위해 초등학교 중학년 이상의 학습자 대부분이 대중가요를 즐겨 듣는다는 학습자 특성에 주목하였다. 이에 학습자는 자신이 좋아하는 노래 가사로 워드클라우드를 생성하고 이를 투명필름에 따라 그리며 빅데이터의 개념을 가시적인 구체물로 익힌다. 초등학교 4학년 학생들을 대상으로 개발된 교수·학습 활동을 적용한 결과, 학생들은 적극적인 태도로 학습에 임하여 빅데이터의 개념과 특징을 탐구 하였다. 개발된 교수·학습 활동은 미술과 교육과정 등과 연계할 수 있다는 점에서 융합교육의 성격도 가진다. 후속 연구를 통해 학습자의 선호를 충분하게 반영하며 교육의 효과를 극대화하는 AI 교육 활동에 관한 연구를 해나가야 할 것이다.
