Since the renaissance of Korean cinema, ' the influence of Japanese subculture has been reflected in many Korean blockbuster films. From the works of the director Pong Joon-ho and the auteur's career, the present study aims to understand how the Japanese subculture laid influence, and conversely, which elements of the Japanese subcultures were less influential. The works selected were those that conveyed 'social, historical and political' realities as entertainment (using allegories) (Katsuhiro Otomo's AKIRA, Mamoru Oshii's Ghost in the Shell and Mobile Police Patlabor 2, Hayao Miyazaki's works, Hideaki Anno's Shin Godzilla, etc.). A notable influence was the scarcity of so-called 'moe', 'nichijokei' and 'kuukikei' types of Japanese work that turn away from 'social, historical and political' realities and construct an ideal world based on attachment with the characters. In other words, the works that conveyed real-life issues through entertainment were used. However, there was little influence of the works that depicted psychology, communication and the sense of life. This may be due to the unique climate of Korean cinema, which is an extension of the treatment of political subjects such as JSA during the Korean film renaissance, or it may stem from the characteristics of the Korean society. Although there were such influences, we can also see here how the culture of the influencers operated as a selective permeable subject in the culture of the receivers.
