This thesis is an experimental study that records this process and reveals its meaning, focusing on local festival performances conducted with independent resident participation. Here, the participation of independent residents is a factor that determines the nature of the festival, and it is important in that the project to revitalize local culture through the festival can contribute to a sustainable relationship with the region and residents beyond the nature of the event. In addition, specifically dealing with performances as a specific program is to arouse interest in the content and performance itself of the festival, which has been relatively alienated from the research on performing arts festivals. The target performance of this study, , was completed through a process in the form of a new documentary. In order to explore the performance as a festival, this paper first examined the nature and progress of the festival (the Nauri Festival in Chungjeong-ro, an urban regeneration area in Seoul). And according to the purpose of the paper, the progress of the performance was discussed in detail. The plan was intended to specifically deal with the performance of non-professional actors. In the meantime, he paid attention to their bodies that appeared not only through their stories but also through songs, dances, and music, which were an important part of their lives. The performance was scheduled to be held at the cultural space "Baekjijang" in the urban regeneration area, but it was held online due to the COVID-19 situation. Filming of the performance took place on October 22, 2021 at the Studio Sk Small Theater in Daehak-ro. This study, aimed at examining the actual progress of non-professional acting and performance and exploring its possibilities and problems, is a work of developing a model of festivals and plays as a cultural movement with persistence, not a one-time experience, and in that respect, it has value as a material for the development and return of acting.

본 논문은 주체적 주민참여로 진행된 지역축제 공연을 중심으로 이 과정을 기록하고 그 의미를 밝혀보는 실험적인 연구이다. 여기서 주체적인 주민의 참여는 축제의 본질을 결정하는 요인이며, 축제를 통한 지역문화 활성화 사업이 단순한 행사의 성격을 넘어 지역, 주민과 유기적 관계를 가지며 나아가 지속성을 갖도록 하는 데에 기여할 수 있다는 점에서 중요하다고 하겠다. 또한 특정한 프로그램으로서 공연을 구체적으로 다루는 것은 그간의 공연예술축제 연구에서 비교적 소외되어 있던 축제의 콘텐츠, 공연 자체에 대한 관심을 환기하기 위함이다. 이 연구의 대상 공연 <무릎이 삐걱거려도>는 뉴 다큐멘터리 형식의 과정을 통해 완성되었다. 공연에 참여하는 배우는 비-전문 연기자, 주민-퍼포머였다. 전체 축제와 그 프로그램에서 핵심이 되는 주민참여 의 모토는 주민-퍼포머의 공연에서 온전히 실현된다. 그리고 공연의 서사는 오로지 그들의 이야기에서 나왔다. 거기엔 정전도 없고 고전도 없는 것이다. 예술의 이상적 주체도 없고 일루전의 연기도 없으니, 그들의 대사는 인터뷰를 통해 만들어졌고 텍스트는 곧 자기 이야기하기의 대본이었다. 그런데 그런 상황이야말로, 자기 이야기, 자기의 삶, 주민의 문화가 곧 형상되는 축제의 본령이라는 점을 생각할 때 간과하지 말아야 할 주제가 된다고 하겠다. 이 논문은 축제로서의 공연을 탐구하기 위해 먼저 그것의 배경이 되는 축제(서울시 도시재생 지역인 충정로 일대의 나우리축제)의 성격과 그 경과를 알아보았다. 그리고 논문의 목적에 따라 공연의 진행에 대해 상세하게 언급하였다. 그 안에서는 비-전문연기자의 연기를 특별히 다루고자 했다. 그러면서 자기 이야기뿐 아니라 그들이 살아온 삶에 중요한 부분을 차지하던 노래와 춤 그리고 음악을 통해 나타나는 그들의 몸에 주목했다. 공연은 해당 도시재생지역의 문화공간 ‘백지장’에서 진행될 예정이었으나 코로나19 상황 때문에 온라인으로 진행되었다. 공연의 촬영은 2021년 10월 22일 대학로의 ‘스튜디오 sk소극장’에 서 이뤄졌다. 비-전문 연기와 공연의 실제 진행을 들여다보고 그 가능성과 문제를 탐색하는 목적을 가진 본 연구는 일회적 경험이 아닌 지속성을 가진 문화운동으로서의 축제와 연극의 모형을 개발하는 작업이며 그런 측면에서 그것과 관련되는 연기, 공연의 개발과 환류를 위한 자료로서의 가치를 지닌다고 하겠다
