In General, preachers agree with needing Christ-centered preaching to a congregation. This is because all preachers cannot deny the following homiletical motto: “must preach Jesus Christ from all of Scripture.” However, whenever a preacher tries to compose a sermon in the perspective of Christ-centered, he experiences the literary devices, the historical background, and the contents of the text being broken. Therefore, Christcentered Preaching cannot but is burdensome to preachers. By the way, sometimes preachers agree that biographical preaching helps the contemporary congregation to know the life and faith of biblical characters because this preaching style provides the application for listeners easily but it seems to guide them to Jesus Christ. The subject matter of this article concerns Arthur W. Pink’s homiletical theology. This paper is to study his Christ-centered biographical preaching. Therefore, to deal with Pink’s Christ-centered biographical preaching. this article will use James White’s three norms for the research method. that is his research method consists of historical, theological(homiletical), pastoral viewpoints. And this article is going to analyze his sermons of Elijah-Elisha narrative with the Heidelberg method of sermon

설교자는 일반적으로 신자에게 그리스도 중심의 설교를 해야 한다고 생각한다. 왜냐하면 설교자라면 성경을 통해 그리스도를 설교해야 한 다는 당위성에 동의하기 때문이다. 그러나 설교자가 그리스도 중심의 설교를 추구하려할 경우에 설교 본문이 내포한 독특한 문학적 요소들 과 수사 기법, 역사적 배경, 설교 본문 내용이 훼손되는 것을 자주 경험 한다. 그러므로 설교자에게 그리스도 중심의 설교는 언제나 부담, 그 자체일 수밖에 없다. 한편, 설교자는 때로 청중에게 인물 설교가 매우 효과적인 설교방법 인 것을 알기에 활용한다. 왜냐하면 인물 설교는 성경 인물의 삶과 믿 음을 오늘의 청중에게 즉시 연관시켜 적용할 수 있는 장점을 지녔기 때 문이다. 다시 말해, 인물 설교는 청중을 위한 구체적인 적용이 가능한 능력을 지녔다. 그러나 인물 설교는 설교를 듣는 청중에게 그리스도에 게 인도하지 못하는 문제점을 노출한다. 종합해 보면, 설교자는 누구든 지 설교 본문을 통해 그리스도 중심의 인물 설교를 할 수 있는 방법에 관하여 모색할 수밖에 없다. 왜냐하면 두 설교 방식의 장, 단점을 지녔 기 때문이다. 본 논문은 Arthur W. Pink의 설교 신학에 초점을 맞춘다. 즉, 논문은 Pink의 그리스도 중심의 인물 설교를 연구하여 소개하는데 그 목적을 둔다. 그리고 논문은 Pink의 그리스도 중심의 인물 설교를 연구하기 위 하여 역사적 고찰, 신학적(설교학적) 고찰과 목회적 고찰로 구성된 James White의 연구 방법을 활용할 것이다. 또한 논문은 Pink의 설교 신학이 드러나는 설교들 가운데 주로 엘리야-엘리사 이야기의 설교 내 용들을 분석할 것이다. 그리고 그의 설교 분석을 위하여 하이델베르크 설교분석 방법을 사용할 것이다.
