To deal with the theme of peace means to take care of the multi-layered problems of life. Through this process, it is important to improve the quality of relationships and to continue new relationships based on the community. Since the subject of peace is related to all areas of life, all people should become a peace-agent in achieving just peace. In particular, the church as a community of faith should not only become a peace-agent, but also form active moral agents through a peace education. It should responsibly pursue the common good and participate in the movement of realizing peace for the social transformation. By educating students about changing attitudes and behaviors that prioritize the value of peace, we aim to make real behavioral changes, that is, an active participation in building new relationships. The church has developed peace as a way of life in relation to various other people, focusing on the relationship with God who is the basis of existence and the center of values. In particular, we try to understand the church as a practical arena of peace education by redefining the new understanding of forgiveness, the emphasis on the relationship of life, and the transformation of the value of worldly power into the sharing and empowering power. Reading and naming the structure of social sin and evil is a very essential starting point of learning and pursuing peace as a way of life. It must be followed by concretely creating completely different relationships that recognize the intrinsic value of all beings. In addition, when the church accepts the responsible task of peace education, it will be possible to emphasize peace as a way of life in the public realm, motivating from the particularity of Jesus' peace ethic. This is directly related to the formation of a more just and humane community of life.

평화의 주제를 다룬다는 것은 삶의 다층적인 삶의 문제를 다룬다는 것이며, 이를 통해 공동체를 바탕으로 관계의 질을 증진시키고 새로운 관계성을 지속해가는 것을 중요시 하는 일이다. 평화의 주제는 삶의 모든 영역과 관계되어 있기에, 그 누구라도 ‘정의로운 평화’를 이루는 일에 평화 주체가 되어야 한다. 특히 신앙공동체로서의 교 회는 평화의 주체가 되어야 할 뿐만 아니라 평화교육을 통해서 도덕적 주체를 형성하 고, 평화를 이루는 공동의 실천을 통해서 공공선과 사회변혁을 책임적으로 지향해 나 가야 한다. 평화를 최우선 가치로 여기는 태도와 행동의 변화에 관해 교육함으로써 실질적인 행동의 변화, 즉 새로운 관계를 맺어가는 참여를 목표로 삼는다. 교회는 존 재의 근거와 가치의 중심이 되는 하나님과의 관계성을 중심으로 다양한 타자와의 관 계성 속에서 평화적 삶의 방식을 발전시켜왔다. 특히 용서에 대한 새로운 이해, 생명 관계성의 강조, 그리고 세상적 힘의 가치를 힘의 공유와 부여로 전환시킴으로써 교회 를 평화교육의 실제적 장으로 이해할 수 있을 것이다. 평화적 삶을 배우고 지향함에 있어서 사회적 죄와 악의 구조를 읽어내는 일은 매우 핵심적인 출발점이며, 모든 존 재의 본래적 가치를 인정하는 전혀 다른 관계성들을 구체적으로 창출하는 것이 뒤따 라야 한다. 또한 평화교육이라는 책임적 과제를 교회가 수용함으로써 예수의 평화윤 리의 고유성으로부터 출발하여 보다 공적인 영역에서 평화적 삶의 방식을 책임적으로 강조할 수 있을 것이다. 이는 보다 정의롭고 인간다운 삶의 공동체를 형성하는 일과 직결된다.
