The purpose of this study is to explore the meaning of reconstruction of the recognition of released prisoners by college students as legal protection commissioner activists at the Korea Rehabilitation Agency deeply. To achieve this, one-on-one in-depth interviews were conducted with 10 male and female college students. The data collected through interviews with the research participants were analyzed in detail using the theme analysis method and constant comparison method in qualitative research. According to the study participants’ statements, the contexts and aspects of the recognition of released prisoners by the college student legal protection commissioner activists were described as the following five categories: “people I went to meet hesitantly afraid”, “people who hid confidence in fierce callousness”, “people whose potential to step their feet was shaded by isolation”, “people who opened up their closed minds little by little”, and “people who do not look different from us.” In addition, the results of the analysis were reconstructed according to the flow of time and seven meanings of the recognition of released prisoners as follows, “facing prejudice”, “drawing out ignorance”, “dismantling boundaries”, “facing truths”, “hoping for changes”, “ruminating on ways”, and “correcting recognition.” These were revealed as the main theme of “deleting the dark mirage and carving ordinariness.” Lastly, suggestions were made on the dimension of correction welfare to improve the internal stability of the support for the rehabilitation of released prisoners to society as well as the recognition of them.

본 연구의 목적은 한국법무보호복지공단 대학생 법무보호위원 활동가들의 출 소자 인식 재구성의 의미를 심도 있게 탐구하는 것이다. 이를 달성하고자 남녀 대학생 총 10명과 일대일 심층면담을 수행했다. 연구참여자와의 면담을 통해 획 득한 자료는 질적 연구에서의 주제분석법과 지속적 비교방법으로 자세히 분석했 다. 연구참여자들이 구술한 바에 따르면, 대학생 법무보호위원 활동가들의 출소 자 인식에 관한 맥락과 양상은 ‘무서워서 주저하며 만나러 간 사람들’, ‘거센 냉 담함에 자신감 숨긴 사람들’, ‘소외로 재기 가능성 그늘진 사람들’, ‘조금씩 닫힌마음 열어간 사람들’, ‘우리와 별반 다르지 않은 사람들’과 같은 5개의 범주로 묘 사되었다. 또한, 분석결과를 시간의 흐름에 따라 재구성하여, ‘편견 직면하기’, ‘무 지 끌어내기’, ‘경계 해체하기’, ‘진실 마주하기’, ‘변화 희망하기’, ‘방법 고심하기’, ‘인식 바로잡기’와 같이 출소자 인식에 관한 7개 의미를 찾아냈다. 이는 ‘짙은 신 기루 지우고 평범함 새겨 넣기’라는 중심주제로 드러났다. 끝으로, 출소자 인식개 선과 더불어 사회복귀 지원의 내실 강화를 위해 교정복지 차원에서 제언했다.
