The purpose of this study is to find the actual state of creative musical choreography in Korea in the quickly changing 4th industry, and therefore to suggest its development direction. To achieve that, this researcher analyzed the musicals that won prizes of best choreography in the Broadway Tony Awards, Olivier Awards of West End, and Korean Musical Awards from 2010 to 2022, and the interviews with musical choreographers, and thereby drew the following conclusions: First, it is necessary to develop Korean-styled dance musicals and increase importance of choreography. Second, it is necessary to develop choreography manpower for Korean creative musicals. Third, with the use of online platforms, it is necessary to make exchanges with Broadway and West End in order to let the world know Korean creative musicals. Fourth, it is necessary to develop the convergence of the musical choreography for images and technologies. At present, Korean musicals continue to expands areas on the basis of diverse themes under the influence of social phenomena. In this circumstance, it is required to detect the quickly changing social atmosphere, and to predict such changes subjectively, and to develop further choreography for Korean creative musicals.

본 연구는 4차 산업으로의 빠른 변화 속에서 한국창작 뮤지컬 안무영역의 현주소를 알아보고 발전 방향을 제시하는데 목적을 두고 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 2010년부터 2022년까지 브로드웨이의 토니상과 웨스트 엔드의 올리비에상 그리고 한국의 뮤지컬 어워즈를 통한 안무 수상작품과 뮤지컬안무가들의 인터뷰자료를 토 대로 연구한 결과, 다음과 같은 결론을 도출할 수 있었다. 첫째, 한국형 댄스 뮤지컬이 개발되어 안무의 중요 도를 높여야 한다. 둘째, 한국창작 뮤지컬 안무 인력 개발이 필요하다. 셋째, 온라인 플랫폼을 활용하여 브로 드웨이와 웨스트엔드의 교류 및 한국창작 뮤지컬과 안무를 알려야 한다. 넷째, 영상과 기술의 융합적 개발에 적용할 뮤지컬 안무를 준비해야 한다. 현재 한국뮤지컬은 사회적 현상의 영향 속에서 다양한 작품 소재를 바 탕으로 끊임없이 영역 확장 중이다. 이에 발맞춰 한국창작 뮤지컬 안무영역이 빠른 사회적 분위기를 감지하고 주체적으로 한발 앞서 예측하고 발전해 나가야 한다.
