This research categorizes the discourse of the transition period that he read on the basis of the “Literary Scrapbook” collection created by Yoon Dong-ju himself, and suggests the directionality of how to read Yoon Dong-ju as the intellectual leader in the transition period. It is to secure the various perspectives of reading Yoon’s poetry by explaining the relationship between his poetry and the works he enjoyed reading. Yoon is known to have collected the works and reviews of the writers since childhood, but only 4 books exist. These literary scrapbooks are the collection of the copies of the literary pages of JoseonIlbo, DongahIlbo and MaeilSinbo that Yoon collected himself. This can be seen as the primary source that reveals the reports of the intellectuals each of whom replied to the modern transition period in the late 1930s. In the research of Yoon Dong-ju, the interaction of contemporary discourse and Yoon’s relationship with the contemporary writers have been extremely limited. This study categorizes his four literary scrapbooks by topics and time, and compares Yoon’s poetry with the scrapbooks in each period. Especially through the poems in the first volume of the scrapbook, it is possible to explain the relationship with and the effects of Oh Jang-hwan’s poems, which have not been reviewed in previous studies. Yoon embraced the tendency of the rising writers of the time and internalized introspection, establishing the subjects through the confrontation with the world, consciousness of the deficiency of hometown, and overcoming his doubts of faith in his poems. These can be seen as the ‘the spirit of the age’ in Yoon’s poetry.

이 논문은 윤동주가 직접 제작한 ‘학예 스크랩북’을 토대로 그가 독서했던 전 환기 담론을 범주화하고, 전환기 지식인 주체로 윤동주를 읽는 방향성을 제시한 다. 윤동주의 시와 그가 아껴 읽었던 작품 사이 관계성의 해명을 통해 윤동주 시를 읽는 다양한 관점을 확보하고자 하는 것이다. 윤동주는 소년기부터 기성 문인들의 작품과 평론들을 스크랩했다고 전해지고 있으나, 현존하는 것은 1-4권뿐이다. 이 학예 스크랩북은 1936년 10월 1일 부터 1940년 12월 26일까지 ≪조선일보≫와 ≪동아일보≫, ≪매일신보≫ 학예 면에 수록된 원고를 윤동주가 직접 수집해놓은 것으로, 1930년대 후반 전환기 근대를 저마다 응전해왔던 지식인층의 보고가 드러나는 1차 자료라 볼 수 있다. 그동안 윤동주 연구에 있어서 당대 담론의 상호작용이나 당대 문인들과의 관 계는 지극히 제한적으로 이루어져 왔다. 본 연구에서는 학예 스크랩북 1-4권을 주제별·시기별로 항목화하고, 스크랩북 제작 시기와 견주어 윤동주 시의 작품세 계를 비교 고찰한다. 특히 스크랩북 1권의 시편들을 통해 선행 연구사에서 검토 된 바가 없었던 오장환 등의 시편들과의 영향 관계를 해명할 수 있다. 윤동주는 당대 신진 그룹의 경향을 수용하여 자아 성찰, 세계와의 대결을 통한 주체 건 립, 결핍된 고향 의식, 신앙 회의기의 극복의 문제 등을 자신의 시에서 내재화 해나갔다. 이는 윤동주 시에 나타난 ‘시대 정신’이라 볼 수 있다.
