The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of client violence on post traumatic stress of psychiatric hospital workers and to verify the mediating effect of resilience on this relationship. For this purpose, descriptive statistics and regression analysis were conducted based on the results of a survey conducted on 772 people working in mental health institutions in Daegu and Gyeongsangbuk-do to analyze the contents. Results First, it was found that client violence experienced by psychiatric hospital workers had a significant effect on post-traumatic stress. Second, the resilience of workers in psychiatric institutions was found to act as a partial mediating variable between client violence and post-traumatic stress. Based on the results of this study, a practical strategy for reducing post-traumatic stress caused by client violence in psychiatric hospital workers and a plan to improve resilience were proposed.

본 연구는 정신의료기관 종사자의 클라이언트 폭력이 외상후스트레스에 미치는 영향을 살펴보고, 이 관계에 영향을 미치는 회복탄력성의 매개효과를 검증하는 데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 대구·경북 지역 정신의료기관종사자 772명에게 실시한 설문조사 결과를 바탕으로 기술통계와 회귀분석을 실 시하여 내용을 분석하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 정신의료기관 종사자가 경험한 클라이언트폭력은 외상 후스트레스에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 정신의료기관종사자의 회복탄력성은 클라이언트폭력과 외상후스트레스 사이에서 부분 매개변인으로 작용하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과에 근거하여 정신의료기관종사자의 클라이언트폭력으로 인한 외상후스트레스를 감소시키 기 위한 실천적 전략과 회복탄력성을 증진시키기 위한 방안을 제안하였다.
