In this study, the perception of the operating status of the Asia Culture Center was checked among the internal members of the Asia Culture Center and local cultural artists. Based on this, policy tasks for the future development direction of the Asia Culture Center were proposed. To this end, a survey was conducted for internal employees of the Asia cultural center, and a focus group interview was conducted with local cultural artists. The main implications of the study results are as follows. First, the evaluation of cultural artists on the local contributions of the institution was generally more negative than that of internal members. Second, internal members and cultural artists alike recognize that it is desirable to move forward in the direction of strengthening the publicness rather than efficiency in the future operation of the Center. Third, internal members are most important and recognize organizational composition, manpower size, and employment stability in areas that need improvement in the future. Fourth, internal members perceive research and content production and development as important, and in the case of publicity and distribution, the current level is low compared to the importance. Fifth, according to the opinions of cultural artists, in the future, the Asia Cultural Center will need to increase the favorability of local residents toward the Center through the expansion of various convenient facilities and active publicity. In addition, it is necessary to contribute to the vitalization of the local economy by strengthening the link between the exhibitions and performances planned by the Center with local tourism and local industries.

본 연구에서는 국립아시아문화전당에 대한 내부 구성원과 지역 문화예술인을 대상으로 국립아시아문화전당의 운영 현황에 대한 인식을 확인하였다. 이를 바탕으로 향후 국립아시아문화전당의 발전방향에 대한 정책적 과제들을 제안하였다. 이를 위해서 전당과 문화원 내부직원들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였고, 지역 문화예술인을 대상으로 심층인터뷰 (Focus Group Interview)를 진행하였다. 연구 결과의 주요 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기관 의 지역상생에 대한 문화예술인들의 평가는 내부구성원보다 대체로 부정적으로 나타났다. 둘째, 내부 구성원과 문화예술인들은 공히 전당의 향후 운영은 효율성보다는 공공성을 보 다 강화하는 방향으로 나아가는 것이 바람직하다고 인식하고 있다. 셋째, 내부구성원들은 미래에 개선이 필요한 부문에 대해서 조직구성 및 인력 규모, 고용 안정성을 가장 중요하 고 인식하고 있다. 넷째, 내부구성원들은 연구와 콘텐츠 제작 및 개발을 중요하게 인식하고 있으며, 홍보와 유통의 경우 중요도에 비해 현재 수준이 낮은 것으로 평가하였다. 다섯째, 문화예술인들의 의견에 따라 향후 전당은 다양한 편의시설 확충과 적극적 홍보를 통해 전 당에 대한 지역민들의 호감도를 높여 나가야 할 것이다. 또한 전당에서 기획하는 전시와 공연의 지역 관광 및 지역 산업과의 연계를 강화하여 지역 경제 활성화에 기여해야 한다.
