Not only do local universities provide education, but they also perform a pivotal role in regional development. For revitalizing local industries and fostering the practical talent, industry-university education needs to be diversified and expanded. This study aims to develop and run a com munity-connected capstone design instruction, verify its effectiveness. Based on the opinions of the students, instructional improvement plan is derived. Based on literature reviews, characteristics of community-connected capstone design were extracted and applied to instructional desig n. Also, pre-post experiments were conducted with students, who participated in the class to examine problem-sol ving skills, collaborative self-efficacy and class satisfaction, and By taking into account the needs of students, qua litative contents analysis was conducted to devise instructional improvement for the future. Capstone design subje ct run by a university results showed that students’ probl em-solving skills did not significantly change, but their collaborative self-efficacy through team activities improv ed and their class satisfaction was relatively high at 4.01 points. Then qualitative data, were analyzed to see specif ic factors of effective instruction management and develop improvement plans. To improve this issue, it is require d to provide sufficient feedback time by strengthening on e-to-one mentoring, adjust the difficulty of problems and reinforce a class management support system. It is anticipated that the instructional improvement suggested by this study would serve as basic data for future development of community-connected capstone design.

지역의 대학은 교육의 제공뿐만 아니라 지역발전의 중추 역할을 수행하고 있다. 지역산업의 활성화 및 실무형 인재양 성을 위해 대학의 산학협력 교육과정은 다변화되고 확대될 필요가 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 지역사회 연계 캡스톤디자인 수업을 개발하고 운영하여 학습효과성을 검증하고 학생들의 의견을 토대로 수업개선안을 도출하는 것이다. 문헌연구를 통해 지역사회 연계 캡스톤디자인의 특성을 도출하여 수업설 계에 적용하고 사전-사후 실험을 실시하여 문제해결능력, 협 력적 자기효능감 및 수업만족도를 알아보았다. 학생들의 요 구사항들을 종합한 정성적인 내용분석을 통해 향후 수업을 위한 개선안을 도출하였다. A 대학의 시각디자인학과에서 개 설된 캡스톤디자인 수업운영 결과, 학생들의 문제해결능력은 유의미한 변화가 없었으나 팀 활동을 통한 협력적 자기효능 감은 향상된 것으로 나타났으며 수업만족도는 4.01점으로 높 은 만족수준을 나타내었다. 정성적 데이터를 분석하여 수업 의 운영효과성 및 개선사항 세부요인들을 확인하고 개선안을 도출하였다. 학생들은 수업을 통해 전반적인 실무능력 및 협 력적 자기효능감이 향상되었지만 처음 경험해보는 현실세계 의 프로젝트 해결에 어려움을 겪고 있어 문제해결능력은 향 상이 되지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 교수 및 전문가들의 일대일 멘토링 강화, 문제의 난이도 조절 및 수업운영 지원체계를 강 화하도록 수업을 개선한다. 본 연구를 통해 제시된 개선안을 통해 향후 캡스톤디자인 수업개발의 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
