This study compares and analyzes transformational and transactional leadership to see which leadership style is more effective on mechanical gymnast athlete’s immersion and satisfaction. Furthermore, this study verifies how athlete’s immersion affects on his or her satisfaction. To analyze this, 152 male and female athletes in high school, college, and professional team that registered in the Korean Gymnastics Association participated as subjects for the study. To verify the data, frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were performed using SPSS WIN Ver.26.0 statistical program. And here is the summary of analysis results. First, the transactional leadership of the gymnastics leader affects an athlete’s immersion. Second, the transformational leadership of the gymnastics instructor is more effective on athlete’s satisfaction, followed by the effectiveness of transactional leadership. Third, an athlete’s immersion affects his satisfaction. Through the results, it was confirmed that the leadership is playing an important role as a strategy to improve an gymnast’s immersion and satisfaction.

본 연구는 변혁적･거래적 리더십을 비교 분석하여 어떠한 리더십이 기계체조 선수의 운동몰입과 선수만족에 보다 긍정적 영향을 미치고 있는지, 더 나아가 운동몰입은 선수만족에 어떠한 영향을 미치고 있는지 검증하는 것에 연구의 목적을 둔다. 이를 분석하기 위하여 대한체조 협회에 등록되어 있는 남, 여 고등부, 대학부, 실업팀 선수 152명을 연구 대상자로 선정하였다. 자료처리를 위해 SPSS WIN Ver. 26.0 통계 프로그램을 사용하여 빈도 분석, 탐색적 요인분석, 신뢰도 분석, 상관관계분석, 회귀분석을 실시하였으며, 분석을 통한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 기계체조 지도자의 거래적 리더십은 운동몰입에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 기계체조 지도자의 변혁적 리더십과 거래적 리더십 순으로 선수만족에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 운동몰입은 선수만족에 영향을 미치고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 결과를 통해 기계체조 선수의 운동몰입 향상과 선수만족을 고취시키기 위한 전략으로 지도자의 리더십이 중요하게 작용 하고 있다는 사실을 확인할 수 있었다.
