The purpose of this study is to reveal in detail the unique aspects and characteristics of Immram curaig Ua Corra , in which ancient pagan culture coexists vividly with the Christian culture of the Middle Ages, and to find the historical significance of it. This will help us understand how the new roles and spaces that the Church has given to the afterlife have interacted and combined with the traditional Celtic imagination of the other world, and how they have taken their place in the minds of the Middle Ages. The first half of the story, that the three sinful brothers repented after dreaming about heaven and hell, shows that Immram curaig Ua Corra is actively borrowing the framework of their journey to the afterlife. In addition, colleagues participating in the voyage of the three brothers show that this document reflects the new social image since the middle of the Middle Ages while inheriting the traditions of the past. If the craftsman assimilated into another world is an old trace of Immram, the soul of a clown who came to inform his colleagues of his fate after death shows people's increased interest in the afterlife. The most interesting thing about this voyage is that it vividly embodies the worlds after death on the sea. In Hell on the Sea, the gods and inhabitants of other world are subjected to harsh punishments for the petty sins committed in their lifetime, deprived of their former glory and joy. At one time, they did not release the invaders who came to their world, but now they are governed by the order created by humans even in their own world. On the other hand, ‘Heaven on the Sea’ is relatively free from the domination of Christianity. It is not a space strictly separated from hell, nor is it a perfect Christian heaven. The paradises of the pagan world, some 'preserving their original form', some 'changing into a more heavenly form', constitute the rest of the world after death above the sea. In a nutshell, ‘Húi Corra’s sea’ is a world where ‘Hell on the Sea’ (the new Christian order oppresses pagan tradition) and ‘Heaven on the Sea’ (a more generous space for pagan elements and symbols) coexist. This shows that medieval Christian society was emphasizing one single world, but in one corner pagan traditions were mapping the various afterlife.
